Has anyone else noticed that the NYDOL website is always down for maintenance when you actually need to use it? It's like they're trolling us at this point 🙄
Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure you're not accidentally logged into an old claim if you've filed before. I made that mistake and was certifying for weeks before I realized I was on my old claim from last year. 🤦♂️
This might sound crazy, but have you tried faxing them? I know, I know, what year is it? But I actually got a response when I faxed in a letter explaining my situation. Worth a shot if you're desperate.
This happened to my neighbor and it turned out his ex-wife had applied using his info. Any chance someone who has your personal details might've done this?
Unpopular opinion: maybe we should all show up at the unemployment office in person. Cant ignore us if were right in front of them 👀

Here's a comprehensive guide on what to expect after receiving your determination letter: • Keep certifying weekly, without fail • Check your bank account or debit card (if you chose that option) regularly for deposits • Be prepared for a potential interview if there are any discrepancies • Keep checking your online account for updates or messages • Don't ignore any mail from the DOL, even if you're receiving benefits • If you start working again, report your income accurately • If you don't receive payment within 2-3 weeks, consider contacting them Remember, every case is different, but this should give you a general idea of the process. Good luck!

•It's frustrating for sure, but remember the system wasn't designed to handle this many claims at once. They're doing their best with limited resources.
