NY unemployment skipped my payment due to system error - anyone else missing 9/11 payment?
So I certify every week like clockwork but just realized I never got paid for the week of 9/11. I checked my payment history and there's literally nothing there for that week - just completely missing. This week's payment (9/18) showed up fine in my account yesterday. I'm freaking out because that's $590 I really need for rent. Called the unemployment office 8 times today but couldn't get through to anyone. Their automated system just says my claim is active and in good standing. Has anyone heard anything about a system error that might have caused payments to be skipped? Not sure if I should just keep calling or if there's another way to report this missing payment.

OMG YES!! I'm having the exact same issue but for 9/4 payment. Nothing showed up and when I called the stupid robot just kept saying everything was fine with my claim. I'm down $565 and my landlord is NOT happy. This is so typical of ny unemployment to mess up and then make it impossible to talk to anyone about it.

I finally got through to them about my missing payment using claimyr.com - it's this service that waits on hold for you and calls when an agent is ready. Talking to an agent got my $ unlocked so fast after weeks of trying myself. Check out this video that explains it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Yeah it actually works. They just call and wait on hold instead of you, then call your phone when they get a real person. I was skeptical too but it saved me hours of hold music

There was definitely a system glitch. I work in IT (not for unemployment tho lol) and my friend who's a supervisor at DOL told me their payment processor had some major issues mid-September. They're supposed to be resolving it without requiring people to call in, but you know how that goes... 🙄

Went thru this last month. After 600 calls, I finally got a live person who told me it was a "certification flag" whatever TF that means. They fixed it and paid me the next day. Keep calling or use one of those call services that waits on hold for you - claimyr.com is what I used after giving up on doing it myself.

I saw on Twitter that there was a big payment processing issue around that time. They're supposedly doing an automatic reprocess for affected claims but who knows when that'll happen. I'd still try to talk to someone directly.

someone on FB unemployment group said there was a glitch with direct deposit around 9/10-9/12. lots of people had missing payments. they had to switch to the debit card option to get paid
