I sent my W2, 1040, and two random paystubs. Better to send too much than too little imho. They can always ignore what they dont need.

I sent EVERYTHING - w2, paystubs, tax return, bank statements showing deposits. got tired of their bs and them asking for more stuff later. still waiting for approval tho 🙄

Anyone else notice how useless the NY unemployment website is for answering these basic questions?? They make these deadlines but don't clearly explain what exactly we need to send. I hate this system with a passion

W2 alone worked for me but if ur worried just throw in a paystub. They'll sort it out

My situation was a mess - worked multiple jobs in 2021 but one company closed down. Sent all my W2s, last paystubs from each job, and a letter explaining the situation. Got approved but took almost a month. If your case is complicated, send as much proof as possible and a clear explanation.

I used to work at NYSDOL (quit cuz it was a nightmare). Here's what you need to know: W2 is sufficient for most cases. If you had variable income or worked multiple jobs, include paystubs that show your highest earning periods. Don't send your entire tax return - they don't need all that and it just creates more paperwork. Just the W2s and maybe the wage and income transcript if you have it.

The unemployment system is a joke. Demanding all these documents but then making it impossible to confirm if they received them or processed them correctly. I'm in the same boat as you - just sent my stuff last week and now paranoid about whether I sent enough.

quick question - are u supposed to send originals or copies? i sent originals and now im freaking out that was wrong

W2s only worked for me but if you're really anxious about it you could just throw in a couple pay stubs from december or sumthin. The whole process sucks but eventually they sort it out.
