Has anyone received NY unemployment deposit on KeyBank card today? System showing paid but nothing in account

So I normally get my NY unemployment deposit every tuesday by like 5 AM. I checked my account this morning and nothing was there. My payment history online shows that the payment was released yesterday for $590 but its not on my keybank card yet. This is super stressful because I have rent due tomorrow and I was counting on that money. Anyone else having this problem? Is there some kind of KeyBank system issue or delay going on right now? I tried calling the keybank number on the back of the card but after being on hold for 45 minutes I got disconnected. Anyone know what I should do or if theres a faster way to check on this?

I'm having the EXACT same issue. Payment history shows it went out monday, but its wensday afternoon now and nothing in my keybank account. I chatted with someone from unemployment through the messaging system and they said it was sent and that its on keybanks end not theres. but I cant get through to anyone at keybank! 😡

So frustrating! Did they give you any idea of when it might show up? I'm getting worried because I've never had a delay like this before.

They just said to keep checking and that sometimes there's processing delays. Not very helpful tbh.

This happened to me last month - it showed up like 36 hours later than normal. The system is so broken sometimes

I had this same problem a couple weeks ago. I was going crazy trying to get through to someone. Finally used a service called claimyr.com and got a callback with an actual human being on the line within an hour! The agent told me there was a system flag that needed to be removed. Talking to an agent got my $ unlocked so fast. Check out this video about the service: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

yeah right, another 'miracle solution'... what's the catch? 🙄

No catch seriously! It just gets you past the hold times. You still talk to the same unemployment people. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for 3 days straight to get through.

wait hold up - does this actually work or is it just the usual BS?

It worked for me! They just call and wait on hold FOR you, then when someone picks up, they connect you. So instead of wasting your whole day on hold, you just get a call when an agent is actually there.

So I was about to throw my phone after 3 hours on hold when my friend told me about this. Used it, got a callback in like 45 mins. Worth every penny when you're desperate to get your benefits fixed.

I've been burned by so many of these 'services' before... what makes this different?

It's not some magic solution that fixes your claim - it just helps you talk to an actual DOL person without the insane hold times. That's it. But that alone saved me days of frustration.

This happens sometimes. There can be random delays with KeyBank. Mine was late last week too but showed up the next day. I wouldn't panic yet, but definitely keep trying to reach someone.

check if theres any maintenance or outages on KeyBank's website. Sometimes they do system updates and payments get delayed. Also double check that ur card hasnt expired or anything (mine did once and i didnt notice it for weeks lol

Good idea - I just checked and the card is still good til next year. Don't see any notices about maintenance but their website is terrible so who knows 🤷‍♂️

Look, the NY unemployment system is totally messed up right now. I'm a former DOL employee (quit last year) and I can tell you that payment delays are happening because they're updating their processing systems. If it says it's been released, you WILL get it, but it might take an extra 24-72 hours sometimes. Only worry if it hasn't shown up by Friday.

Thanks for the insider info! That's reassuring. I can probably make it til Friday but it's gonna be tight.

Do you know if there's any way to get prioritized if you're facing eviction? My landlord is NOT understanding about delays.

Technically yes - call and explain you have an urgent financial hardship. Ask for a supervisor right away. They CAN flag accounts for expedited processing in certain cases.

Dealing with the exact same thing here. The most frustrating part is not being able to talk to anyone! I've tried calling the regular unemployment line about 20 times today and either get disconnected or told the wait is over 3 hours. How is anyone supposed to get help?

Pro tip: call right when they open at 8 am. Still a wait but usually only like 30-45 mins instead of 3+ hours

I tried that yesterday! Got up at 7:30, called at 8:00 on the dot and STILL got the 'all representatives are busy' message 😫

That's why I ended up using claimyr.com - I couldn't afford to spend my whole day on hold anymore. Worth checking out if you're desperate.

This is the comprehensive solution to your problem: First, don't panic - payment delays happen periodically with KeyBank and NY unemployment. Here's what you should do: 1) Screenshot your payment history showing the release date. This is your proof that the payment was processed. 2) Continue trying KeyBank customer service, but try different options in their phone tree - sometimes selecting the "lost/stolen card" option gets you to a human faster even though that's not your issue. 3) File a message through your NY unemployment online account. Be specific about the date the payment was released and that it hasn't appeared in your KeyBank account. 4) If you need to speak with someone urgently (which it sounds like you do with rent due), I highly recommend using claimyr.com - it's a service that waits on hold with unemployment for you and calls you when they get a live person. It saved me countless hours when I had a similar issue. 5) While waiting, check if your KeyBank account has any restrictions or if you need to complete any verification steps. Sometimes they freeze accounts without clear notification. 6) If the payment doesn't show up by Thursday, consider filing a complaint with the NYS Banking Department. The good news is that since it shows as released, the money is in the system somewhere and you WILL get it. The challenge is just tracking down where it got stuck. Hope this helps! Let us know when it comes through.

Thank you for all this detailed info! Really appreciate it. I'll definitely try some of these today and report back.

I just want to second the claimyr recommendation. Used it last month when my benefits suddenly stopped. Saved me from spending my entire day on hold.

Just a heads up that KeyBank had some technical issues yesterday according to their Twitter. They didn't specifically mention unemployment deposits but could be related.

Ugh KeyBank is THE WORST. I switched to direct deposit to my regular bank account after having so many issues with them. If you have another bank account, I strongly recommend changing your payment method.

-

Anastasia Ivanova

How long did the switch take? I've been meaning to do this but worried about payments getting lost in transition.

It took about 10 days for me. You'll want to leave some money on the KeyBank card until you confirm the direct deposit is working. But SO worth it.

10000% this! KeyBank has been nothing but problems. Direct deposit to my credit union has been flawless.

have you checked if there was any emails from ny unemployment about verifying identity or anything? sometimes they hold payments if they need additional verification but don't tell you directly 🤡

Just checked - nothing in my email or message center. Everything looks normal on my end which makes it even more frustrating!

I just got off the phone with KeyBank (took forever to get through). They said there's a processing delay affecting some unemployment deposits and they should all be resolved by end of day tomorrow. The rep said they're getting flooded with calls about this.

You actually got through to KeyBank?! What number did you call? I've been trying all morning.

I called the regular number on the back of the card but pressed 0 four times in a row which somehow got me to a different queue. Still waited 30 mins tho.

I swear the NY unemployment system is designed to be as frustrating as possible. Every week there's some new issue. One week payments are delayed, next week the website is down, then they need random documents... it never ends 😤

Did you make any changes to your claim recently? Like updated your address or anything? Sometimes even small changes can trigger payment holds while they verify the new info.

0 coins

-

Anastasia Ivanova

Nope - haven't made any changes at all. That's what's so weird. It's been working perfectly fine until now.
