NY unemployment payment released today - will Key Bank deposit on Saturday?
Just checked my NY unemployment account and it says my payment was released TODAY (Friday). I'm supposed to get it on my Key Bank card but not sure if they process deposits on weekends? This is my first payment after 3 weeks of waiting and I REALLY need this money for rent on Monday. Anyone know if Key Bank posts NY unemployment deposits on Saturdays? Or will I have to wait until Monday?

Key Bank typically processes NY unemployment deposits within 1-2 business days after NYSDOL releases the payment. In my experience, if your payment was released on Friday, it should appear on your card by Saturday afternoon in most cases. However, there are occasional delays in the banking system. You can check your balance through the Key Bank app or by calling the number on the back of your card. If it doesn't appear by Saturday evening, it will most likely be there first thing Monday morning.

I'm in the exact same boat! Mine also got released today and I'm freaking out because I have auto-payments scheduled for Monday. Did anyone ever have their payment NOT show up after it said released? What happens then?? Do we have to call someone? The anxiety is killing me right now...

I went through this exact situation last month. When my payment was released on Friday, it didn't show up Saturday but was there Sunday morning around 10am. Key Bank does process on weekends but it's not as consistent as weekdays. If you're really worried about getting through to NYSDOL if there's a problem, I found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me connected to an actual agent without waiting for hours. This is why I HATE the Key Bank card!!! Last year I switched to direct deposit to my personal bank account and NEVER had these issues again. The Key Bank system is GARBAGE and they don't care about us unemployed people AT ALL!!! Three times they "lost" my money for DAYS and their customer service is USELESS!!!

•You make a good point about direct deposit. For future reference, OP can switch to direct deposit through their NY.gov account under the payment method section. It's more reliable than the KeyBank card for most people.

In January 2025, I had a payment released on Friday that appeared on my Key Bank card Saturday around 2pm. However, the February payment that was released on Friday didn't post until Monday. It seems to vary, but I'd say about 60% of weekend releases do process on Saturday in my experience. If you need to check your balance frequently, I recommend downloading the Key Bank app - it updates faster than the website in my experience.
