DETR Nevada: Filed claim, told to call but lines always busy. Advice needed!

I filed a claim but it says I need to call. Anyone else having this issue? I've been trying to get through for days but the lines are always busy. It's so frustrating! I really need this refund and I don't know what else to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

I found a way to solve unemployment claim phone issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVfJFhO7iXI

Have you checked your online account? Sometimes they update info there without actually calling you. Might save you some time and frustration.

Good point. I found some updates online that I never got notified about.

I know it's disheartening, but don't lose hope. Something will work out!

I'm telling you, it's a conspiracy. They make it impossible to reach them so they don't have to pay out. Wake up, sheeple! πŸ‘€

Oh please, not everything is a conspiracy. The system is just outdated and overwhelmed.

That's what they want you to think! Do your research!

While it might feel like that, it's likely just a result of poor infrastructure and high demand.

Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard that's the best time to get through. Also, keep hitting 0 or # repeatedly - sometimes that'll get you to a human faster.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🀞

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been dealing with this for months now. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things through.

β€’

I didn't even think of that! How do I find out who my local rep is?

β€’

Just google '[your state] representative' and it should come up. Send them an email explaining your situation. They might take a while to respond, but it's worth a shot!

A friend of mine did this and they were able to get things sorted a lot quicker.

Welcome to the club, buddy. We're all in the same boat here. I've been trying to get through for weeks now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach them.

Same here. It's a nightmare! I wish they could at least provide a callback service or something.

For those considering Claimyr, it's a valid tool that's helped many, but it’s important to weigh the cost with the urgency of getting through. While $20 is an investment, it might be worth it to avoid the stress and time lost trying to reach someone the usual way. However, I have heard of people using alternative methods outlined here with success, so those could be worth a try first. The key is persistence and exploring all possible avenues. Good luck, everyone!

Hey OP, can you give us more details? What kind of claim did you file? How long ago? Sometimes the process is different depending on the type of claim.

Sure, I filed for unemployment about 3 weeks ago. Got a letter saying I need to call to verify some info, but can't get through.

β€’

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, that's pretty common. Keep trying the tips others have suggested. It's a pain, but you'll get through eventually!

In some cases, emailing the unemployment office might also help. They can sometimes address issues without a call.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Mc9FNfOF_yY

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

0 coins

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

I know it sounds crazy, but it actually worked for me. After weeks of trying, I was desperate. It's not ideal, but if you really need to get through, it's an option.

Is this even legal? Seems sketchy af

I used it too, and it got me through. It's a shame we have to resort to this, but it worked.

This whole situation is so messed up. We're all just trying to survive here. Sending good vibes to everyone dealing with this nightmare πŸ’–

Here's what you need to do to increase your chances of getting through: 1. Call early in the morning, right when they open. 2. If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial. 3. Use multiple phones if possible to increase your chances. 4. Be persistent and keep trying throughout the day. 5. Consider using an auto-dialer app to save your fingers. 6. If all else fails, try contacting them through social media or email. 7. Document all your attempts in case you need to prove you've been trying to reach them. Remember, patience is key. It's frustrating, but keep at it. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try all of these. Really appreciate it πŸ’―

This is great advice. I'd add: if you get through and they can't help, ask to be transferred instead of hanging up and starting over.

Also, when you do get through, try to jot down the name of the agent you're speaking with.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my claim 2 weeks ago and got the dreaded "call us" notice. I've been trying every day since then with no luck. The worst part is you can't even get into a queue - it just hangs up on you with a busy signal. I've started keeping a log of all my call attempts like someone mentioned, just in case. Has anyone had success with calling different numbers? I heard sometimes the main line is busier than regional offices. Stay strong everyone, we'll get through this eventually! πŸ™

I'm dealing with the same exact issue! Filed my claim about 2 weeks ago and got that "please call" message. I've been trying literally every day, multiple times a day, and nothing. The busy signal is soul-crushing at this point. I saw some people mentioning trying right when they open - what time do they actually open? I've been calling around 9am but maybe I need to be earlier? Also really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here, it helps to know I'm not alone in this nightmare. The stress of needing the money plus not being able to reach anyone is just overwhelming. Hang in there everyone! πŸ’ͺ

They typically open at 8am, so try calling right at 8:00 sharp! I've found that even calling at 8:01 makes a huge difference. The first few minutes seem to be your best shot before the lines get completely overwhelmed. Also, have you tried the callback option if they have one? Some offices offer that instead of waiting on hold. Keep your head up - we're all in this together! 🀞

I'm in the exact same boat! Filed my claim about a month ago and have been getting the runaround ever since. What's really helped me is calling at exactly 8:00 AM when they open - I actually got through twice that way, though one time I got disconnected after waiting 2 hours 😀. I've also been documenting everything like others suggested. One tip that worked for a friend: try calling on Tuesdays or Wednesdays - apparently Mondays and Fridays are the absolute worst. Also, if you have any friends or family who can help call from different numbers simultaneously, that increases your odds. It's ridiculous that we have to resort to these tactics just to get basic assistance, but here we are. Don't give up - I know it's exhausting but persistence does eventually pay off!
