REFUNDO deposit scheduled for 3/14 but nothing in my account yet - anyone else waiting?
I chose REFUNDO for my tax refund this year and the IRS website shows a direct deposit date of 3/14. It's now 3/17 and I still haven't received anything in my account. Starting to get worried as this is a pretty big refund amount ($3,865) that I've been counting on. Has anyone else used REFUNDO and experienced delays? Is this normal or should I be calling someone at this point? Checked my transcript and it definitely shows the 3/14 date with code 846.

Tax specialist here. When you choose a third-party service like REFUNDO for your refund, there's an additional processing step. Your refund first goes to REFUNDO, who then deducts any fees and forwards the remainder to your account. This typically adds 1-5 business days to the process. The 846 code on your transcript confirms the IRS has released the funds, but it doesn't mean they've reached your bank yet. Since 3/14 was just last Thursday, and considering weekends don't count as business days, I'd wait until Tuesday or Wednesday before getting concerned. If nothing arrives by Wednesday, contact REFUNDO directly at 1-800-961-6440 (their customer service line). Have your tax return info handy when you call. The IRS won't be able to help much since they've already processed their part correctly.

•Thank you so much for explaining! I had no idea about the processing time with REFUNDO as a middle-man. Will definitely wait til Wednesday before panicking 😅

•just adding to what they said - I work at a bank and this is 100% accurate. third party processors ALWAYS add extra time. And with the weekend that just passed, totally normal delay

•This! I was going to suggest the same thing. The IRS shows it as sent, but REFUNDO has to process it before it hits your account.

I was in the exact same situation last month trying to figure out where my refund was. I was checking all these forums trying to piece together what was happening with my money! Super frustrating. Then I found this tool called taxr.ai that actually explained exactly what was going on with my refund based on my transcript. It showed me the exact timeline and even predicted when I'd get the money (down to the day!). Way better than trying to be a detective and decoding all those weird IRS codes myself. Check it out at https://taxr.ai - seriously made things so much clearer.

•Sounds interesting. How exactly does it work? Does it just read your transcript or does it do more?

•OMG it does WAY more than just read the transcript. It actually explains every code in plain english, tells you what's happening behind the scenes at the IRS, and gives you a timeline of when to expect your money. It even caught an issue with my return that would have delayed it another 8 weeks! Best tool I've found for dealing with the IRS nightmare. Literally everyone I know who's used it says the same thing.

•Worth every penny for the peace of mind! I was losing sleep checking my bank account 50 times a day before I found this. Now I know exactly what's happening instead of guessing.

Exact same thing happened to me. After waiting 3 days past my deposit date, I got fed up and found a way to actually talk to a real IRS person using claimyr.com. Got a callback within 20 minutes and the agent saw that Refundo had rejected the deposit due to an account number mismatch! The agent helped me update my info and my money was in my account 2 days later. Talking to a human at the IRS was honestly the only thing that solved my problem - saved me weeks of waiting and wondering.

•Wait really? You actually got through to the IRS?? I've been calling and getting hung up on because 'call volume is too high' 🤦♂️ Will definitely check this out if my money doesn't show up by tomorrow!

•Not a scam at all. I was skeptical too but was desperate after spending 4 hours on hold just to get disconnected. It worked exactly as advertised - you pay for the service and they get you a callback from the IRS. The agent who called me was 100% official IRS. You still talk directly to the IRS, this just handles the ridiculous phone system part.

•I can back this up. Used it last year when my refund was stuck in limbo for 3 months. Talking to an actual agent got everything fixed in one call. Best money ive ever spent when ur refund is stuck in the black hole that is the IRS.

Same thing happened to me but with TPG (tax preparer group) instead of REFUNDO. It took a full 5 business days after the IRS date for the money to show up. They dont count weekends bro so ur really only 1 business day late. Give it til tomorrow or wednessday.

Refundo is notoriously slow especially this time of year when literally everyone is filing. Last year they took a whole week past my deposit date but the money did eventually come. I'd wait at least 5 business days before freaking out.

•Yep, same here. They took 7 business days for me last year. Hate that they don't communicate better about the delays tho.

•This is good to know! Makes me feel better that I'm not alone in this. Will try to be patient for a few more days.

Check if ur bank shows any pending deposits. Sometimes it shows there first before posting to ur available balance. Also make sure u check the correct account if u have multiple accounts.

I used to work for a tax prep company. The way REFUNDO works is they are a middle-man. The IRS sends your money to them, they take out any fees you agreed to (tax prep fees, advances, etc), then they send the rest to you. This extra step adds time. Also if the 14th was your DDD (direct deposit date) from the IRS, that just means the IRS sent it to REFUNDO on that day, not that REFUNDO sent it to your bank that day.

•Thanks for the inside info! Makes total sense, I just wish they'd explained this better when I chose the REFUNDO option.

SBTPG (Santa Barbara Tax Products Group) took 8 days past my DDD to finally deposit my refund. These companies are making interest off the float while they hold everyone's money. Legal theft if u ask me. 🤬

•👆 This right here! They're literally making money by holding our refunds as long as possible. Pure greed.

ApolloJackson
•Exactly! If they hold 100,000 refunds averaging $3000 each for an extra 5 days, at even 3% interest, they make like $123,000 just from the float. It's a huge scam.

Call the REFUNDO customer service number: 1-800-961-6440. They can tell you exactly what's going on with your refund. I had to do this last year and found out there was a problem with my account number that needed to be fixed.

I ended up spending hours trying to figure out why my refund hadn't hit my bank yet even though the IRS said it was sent. After several frustrating phone calls, I used taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it immediately showed me that there was a verification hold that wasn't obvious on the transcript. Saved me weeks of waiting! It also projected my actual deposit date almost to the day. https://taxr.ai

•Did you have to upload personal info to use it? Sounds sketchy.

•No uploading of any personal documents - you just answer questions about what you see on your transcript (codes, dates, amounts). It's super secure and actually really well designed. I'm pretty paranoid about online security and felt totally comfortable using it.

never EVER EVER use tax refund advances or 3rd party processors. They delay your money and take fees. Always choose direct deposit straight to your bank account. lesson learned for next year!

FYI, for anyone reading this who hasn't filed yet - if you use a paid tax preparer like H&R Block or TurboTax AND choose to pay their fee out of your refund, they ALL use these third party processors (REFUNDO, SBTPG, etc) which adds days or weeks to your refund time. If you pay upfront for the tax prep, you can get direct deposit straight from the IRS which is much faster.

I had literally the EXACT same issue with refundo last month. Had a DDD of 2/17 but didnt get my money until 2/25. Calling them was useless - they just said "its processing" over and over. But then I found a way to talk directly to the IRS using claimyr.com and the agent told me there was an issue with how REFUNDO was processing my deposit. Got it fixed and the money showed up 2 days later. Trust me, talking to an actual agent is the only way to get real answers.

•How much did it cost to use claimyr?

•Don't remember the exact amount but it was worth every penny considering I was waiting on a $4k+ refund. Would've paid double honestly after wasting hours trying to get through the IRS phone system myself.

Happend to me they take 3-5 business days after the date irs gives. Your looking at Wednesday or Thursday this week most likely. If nothing by Friday definitely call REFUNDO.

Just be patient this happened to my sister. She was freaking out but refund come 5 days after the direct deposit date. The tax companies don't make it clear that there's extra processing time when your refund goes through them first.

The IRS has been especially slow this year processing things. My friend who works there says they're still understaffed and systems keep crashing. Even with refunds that show as processed on the transcript, there have been delays in the actual money movement.

•Can confirm. My sister works for the Treasury and says their payment systems have been glitching like crazy this filing season. The whole system is held together with digital duct tape at this point lol

The whole process is so frustrating. I was in the same boat last year and absolutely could not get a straight answer from anyone. Ended up spending hours on forums trying to piece together what was happening. This year I used taxr.ai before filing and it helped me avoid all the headaches - showed me potential flags that could delay my return and explained the whole process super clearly. Highly recommend for anyone who hates this annual guessing game with the IRS. https://taxr.ai

•It's basically like having an IRS agent explain your specific situation. It walks through your entire transcript and explains what each code means for YOU (not just generic explanations), shows you any issues that might delay your refund, and gives you a really clear timeline. Saved me from making a mistake that would have delayed my return by months.

Hey Kyle! I went through this exact same thing with REFUNDO last year and it was so stressful. The 3/14 date you see on your transcript is when the IRS sent the money to REFUNDO, not when REFUNDO sends it to your bank. They have to process it on their end first which typically takes 3-7 business days depending on how busy they are. Since 3/14 was Thursday and we just had a weekend, you're really only about 1-2 business days "late" right now. I'd give it until Wednesday before calling their customer service line. My refund showed up on day 4 after my DDD last year. The waiting is the worst part but it should come through soon!

•Thanks so much for sharing your experience! It's really reassuring to hear from someone who went through the same thing. I had no idea that the 3/14 date was just when the IRS sent it to REFUNDO, not when they send it to me. That makes way more sense now. I'll try to be patient until Wednesday like you suggested. The waiting really is the worst part, especially with a larger refund amount! 😅
