IRS Refund Delayed: No Updates After 21+ Days - What's Going On?
Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with my tax refund situation. It's been over 3 weeks since I filed and I haven't seen any updates on my refund status. Has anyone else experienced long delays this year? I'm starting to worry something might be wrong with my return.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I'm in the same boat. Filed over a month ago and still nothing. The IRS website just says it's 'processing' but no other info. So annoying!

ā¢A month?! That's crazy. Have you tried calling them? Maybe there's an issue they haven't told you about.

ā¢I tried calling but got stuck in this endless phone tree 𤬠Never actually got to talk to a human. Might try again next week if I don't see any updates.

ā¢Pro tip: call right when they open. You'll still wait, but way less than midday.

21 days is actually pretty normal these days. The IRS is seriously backlogged. I'd say give it another week or two before you start to worry. If you filed electronically and there were no errors, you should be fine.

Did you check the 'Where's My Refund' tool on the IRS website? Sometimes that has more up-to-date info than what you get when you call.

ā¢Yeah, I've been checking that daily. Still just says 'Your tax return is still being processed.' š

I had a similar issue last year. Turns out they needed to verify my identity. Check your mail carefully - they might have sent you a letter requesting more info.

ā¢Thanks for the heads up! I'll keep an eye out for any mail from the IRS.

Hey guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at the IRS. I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials through the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

ā¢For me it was. I was going crazy trying to get through. This way I could just go about my day and they called me when an agent was on the line.

Listen up, folks. Here's what you need to know about IRS refund delays: ⢠The IRS is still catching up from COVID backlogs ⢠If you claimed certain credits (like Earned Income Tax Credit), your refund might take longer ⢠E-filed returns are generally processed faster than paper returns ⢠If it's been more than 21 days (for e-file) or 6 weeks (for paper), you can request a trace on your refund ⢠Check the IRS2Go app for the most up-to-date status If you're really worried, you can try calling the IRS at 1-800-829-1040, but be prepared for long wait times. And whatever you do, don't fall for any scams promising to get your refund faster!

ā¢Wait, what's this about a trace? How do you request that?

ā¢You can request a trace by calling the IRS or filling out Form 3911. But only do this if it's been at least 21 days since you e-filed or 6 weeks since you mailed your return.

Has anyone else noticed that the 'Where's My Refund' tool seems to be glitching lately? It keeps logging me out when I try to check my status.

ā¢Deep breaths, friend. Have you tried calling the Taxpayer Advocate Service? They might be able to help if you're experiencing financial hardship.
