E-filed in March, still no IRS refund. Normal processing time? What to do?

Hey everyone, I'm getting really frustrated with my tax refund situation. I e-filed my taxes back in March and still haven't received my refund. It's been over a month now! Does anyone know how long it typically takes for electronic filings to be processed? I'm starting to worry there might be an issue with my return. Any advice on what I should do or who I should contact?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I'm in the same boat. Filed electronically in early March and still crickets 🦗 from the IRS. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on with our money.

Same here! Filed in February and nothing yet. This is ridiculous 😤

Guys, have you checked the 'Where's My Refund' tool on the IRS website? It might give you some info on the status of your return.

Yeah, I've been checking that thing like every day. All it says is 'Your return is still being processed.' Super helpful, right? 🙄

Here's what you need to know about processing times and what to do: 1. Normal processing time: The IRS says most e-filed returns are processed within 21 days. 2. Possible delays: If there are errors, identity verification issues, or if your return needs further review, it can take longer. 3. Check status: Use the 'Where's My Refund' tool on IRS.gov or the IRS2Go app. 4. When to worry: If it's been more than 6 weeks since you e-filed, it's time to contact the IRS. 5. Contacting IRS: Call 1-800-829-1040, but be prepared for long wait times. 6. Have info ready: Social Security number, filing status, and exact refund amount. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

This is really helpful, thanks for sharing! Do you know if there's a way to check if there are any specific issues with your return?

You're welcome! As for specific issues, the 'Where's My Refund' tool might give you some general info, but for details, you'd need to contact the IRS directly. They can access your account and see if there are any flags or issues holding up your return.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I filed in February and JUST got my refund last week. The system is totally backed up this year. Hang in there!

Has anyone else noticed that the IRS seems to be quicker with sending out bills than refunds? 🤔 Just sayin'...

Ain't that the truth! It's almost like they're designed to be inefficient on purpose 🤡

Hey guys, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone at the IRS. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Wow, that sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

Idk man, paying to talk to the IRS? Seems sketchy...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Can you give more details about how it works? Like, do you have to give them any personal info?

Nah, you just put in the number you want them to call, and they do all the waiting on hold for you. When an agent picks up, they connect you. Simple as that.

Pro tip: If you're expecting a large refund, consider adjusting your withholdings for next year. It's better to have that money throughout the year than to give the government an interest-free loan!

This! 👆 I started doing this a couple years ago and it's made a huge difference in my monthly budget.
