FTB 2022 tax return stuck in limbo - sent missing docs twice, no response. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my 2022 state tax return and could use some advice. I've sent in the missing pages 4-5 and the head of household form twice now, but I haven't heard anything back. It's been weeks and I'm starting to get worried. Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to get through to someone at the FTB? I'm really counting on this refund and the silence is killing me.

Ugh, I feel your pain! I had a similar issue last year. Have you tried calling them directly? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get answers.

•I've tried calling, but the wait times are insane. I gave up after being on hold for 2 hours 😫

•Pro tip: call right when they open. You might have better luck getting through!

•Or try calling 30 minutes before they close. Sometimes that works too!

I found a way to get someone on the phone without waiting forever. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/XbqD8mexcoQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it does! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

•100% legit. I've used it twice now. It's a game-changer for dealing with these government agencies.

Here's what I'd do: 1. Double-check that you sent everything to the correct address. 2. Make sure you included your SSN on all pages. 3. Send a follow-up letter referencing your previous submissions. 4. If possible, fax the documents as well. 5. Keep calling until you get through. 6. Consider visiting a local FTB office if there's one near you. Don't give up! The squeaky wheel gets the grease. 💪

•Yeah, I check it daily. Still says 'processing' 😕

•Oof, that 'processing' status is the worst. Hang in there!

Have you considered reaching out to your state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along with government agencies.

•That's a great idea! I hadn't even thought of that. I'll give it a shot.

Guys, I work in tax prep. Here's a pro tip: always keep copies of EVERYTHING you send to the FTB. And send it certified mail if possible. That way you have proof of what you sent and when.

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at them can get a response.
