FTB Refund Status Check - Any Tips for Getting Through?
Hey everyone, I'm trying to check the status of my refund from the FTB. Has anyone had any luck getting through to them lately? I've been waiting for what feels like forever and I'm starting to get worried. Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been trying to get info on my refund for weeks now. It's like they've gone radio silent or something. Have you tried checking the online portal? Sometimes that has more up-to-date info than what you get on the phone.

•Yeah, I've checked the portal but it just says 'processing' 😩 No real info there either. It's so frustrating!

•Same here! The online portal is about as useful as a chocolate teapot rn 🍫☕

•Oof, that sucks. Sounds like were all in the same boat then. Maybe we should start a support group lol

I actually found a way to get through to a real person! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when an agent picks up. It costs $20, but it saved me hours of hold time. Here's a video about how it works: https://youtu.be/XbqD8mexcoQ

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•I get the skepticism, but it honestly worked for me. After spending days trying to get through, it was worth every penny. Just sharing what worked for me! 🤷♂️

•I tried it too! Totally legit. Got through in like an hour when I'd been trying for days on my own.

Pro tip: try calling right when they open in the morning. I got through after only a 20-minute wait last week. Good luck!

Okay, so here's what I've learned from dealing with FTB refunds: 1. Be patient. They're swamped and processing times are longer than usual. 2. Check your 'Where's My Refund?' status online regularly. 3. Make sure you filed correctly - any errors can delay your refund. 4. If you e-filed, allow at least 2-3 weeks before panicking. 5. For paper returns, it can take up to 3 months (I know, it's ridiculous). 6. If you're past these timeframes, then definitely try to contact them. 7. Keep all your documents handy when you do get through. 8. Be polite to the agent - they're probably as frustrated as we are. Hope this helps someone! Hang in there, folks. 💪

•Wow, thanks for the detailed info! This is super helpful. I guess I'll try to be patient for a bit longer before I start freaking out 😅

Has anyone else noticed that the FTB seems to be moving slower than molasses in January this year? I swear it wasn't this bad last tax season. 🐌

•I heard they're understaffed and still dealing with a backlog from the pandemic. Doesn't make it any less annoying tho 🙄

Quick question - has anyone received any letters or notices from FTB about their refund? I'm wondering if I should be on the lookout for anything in the mail.

•I got a letter asking for additional info about a month after I filed. Definitely keep an eye on your mailbox!
