IRS Transcript Shows No Movement After Identity Verification - What Now?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my tax return. I've updated my status and verified my identity, but there's still no movement on my refund. I've been using the IRS tools to track my transcripts, but I'm not seeing any progress. Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on what I should do next?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. It's so frustrating! Have you checked for any specific transaction codes on your transcript? Sometimes those can give you a clue about what's going on.

Thanks for the tip! I've looked at the codes, but honestly, I'm not sure what they all mean. Is there a specific code I should be looking for?

Look for codes like 570 (indicates a hold on your account) or 971 (notice issued). Those are usually the ones that mean somethings up. If you see a 846 code, that's good news - it means your refund's been approved!

This thread is super helpful! I've been staring at my transcript like it's written in ancient hieroglyphics 😂

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at the IRS. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

I get the skepticism, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Just sharing what helped me out 🤷♂️

I actually used it too! Totally worth it. Got through to an agent in like 30 minutes instead of calling for days.

Have you considered that there might be an issue with your identity verification? Sometimes that can hold things up even if you think you've done everything right.

Oof, tax season is the worst. I've been waiting on my refund for what feels like FOREVER. The IRS is slower than a sloth on sedatives this year 🐌💤

Here's what I've learned from dealing with the IRS for years: 1. Be patient. The IRS is dealing with millions of returns. 2. Keep checking your transcript weekly for updates. 3. If you see no movement after 21 days, try calling the IRS directly. 4. Make sure all your information is correct - even small errors can cause delays. 5. If you filed electronically and used direct deposit, you should get your refund faster. 6. Sometimes, returns get randomly selected for additional review, which can cause delays. 7. If you claimed certain credits (like Earned Income Tax Credit), your refund might be held until mid-February due to the PATH Act. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP!

I heard they're super backed up because of the pandemic still. My cousin's neighbor's dog's previous owner works for the IRS and said they're like 2 years behind on everything.
