IRS Transcript Shows No Tax Filed & Unprocessed - Refund Delayed. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my tax refund. I checked my online account and it says the refund is delayed. When I looked at my transcript, it shows that no tax has been filed and it hasn't been processed. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm not sure what to do next or how long I should wait before taking action. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Filed electronically months ago and still nothing. Have you tried calling the IRS? It's a nightmare to get through, but it might be worth a shot.

β’I haven't tried calling yet. The thought of being on hold for hours is giving me anxiety π« How long did you wait on hold?

β’Honestly, I gave up after 2 hours. It's ridiculous. There has to be a better way to get answers!

β’Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through in about 30 minutes that way. Still sucks, but better than hours.

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

β’Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Have you checked if there were any errors on your return? Sometimes even small mistakes can cause delays. Double-check all your info and make sure everything matches your W-2s and other forms.

The IRS is so backed up rn its not even funny. I filed in February and just got my refund last week. Patience is key, but also don't be afraid to advocate for yourself if it's been an unreasonable amount of time.

OK, let me break this down for you: 1. First, double-check that your return was actually transmitted if you filed electronically. Sometimes there can be glitches. 2. If it's been more than 21 days since you e-filed (or 6 weeks for paper filing), you should definitely contact the IRS. 3. Use the 'Where's My Refund' tool on the IRS website. It updates daily and can give you more info. 4. If you can't get through on the phone, try contacting the Taxpayer Advocate Service. They can help if you're experiencing financial hardship due to the delay. 5. Make sure you keep all your tax documents and proof of filing in case you need to provide additional information. 6. Sometimes, delays happen if there's suspected identity theft or fraud. If that's the case, you'll need to go through additional verification steps. Hang in there! The system is overwhelmed, but persistence usually pays off.

Have you considered checking if you're eligible for the Taxpayer Advocate Service? They can sometimes help if you're facing financial hardship due to refund delays.

Plot twist: the IRS is actually a front for the world's largest EDM festival. All that hold music? Just them testing their sick beats. π§πΊπ

Serious question: has anyone had luck contacting their local congressperson about IRS issues? I've heard they can sometimes help push things along.

β’I tried this last year! It actually worked, but it took about a month. Worth a shot if you're really stuck.
