Money Network debit card payment timeline - anyone getting paid faster than BOA?

Has anyone figured out the payment timeline with the new Money Network debit card? I just switched from the BOA card last month. With BOA, I'd certify early Sunday morning and typically see funds deposited between 8-9pm that same night. It was super reliable. I certified this past Sunday at 6am, but I'm still waiting for the money to hit my Money Network card. It's been over 24 hours now and I'm starting to get anxious. My rent is due Friday and I'm cutting it close. For those who've been using the Money Network card for a while, what's been your experience with payment timing? Is it slower than the old BOA system? Do payments typically come the next day instead of same day now?

got my money network card bout 2 months ago and ya its def slower than BOA... usually takes until monday night or tuesday morning for me even when i certify at midnight when the system opens

Ugh, that's really frustrating. Did they explain anywhere that the processing would be slower? I don't remember reading that when they announced the switch.

The Money Network cards generally have a 24-48 hour processing time after your certification is approved. This is different from Bank of America's system which often processed same-day. I've been on the Money Network card since the transition in January, and I've found that if I certify early Sunday morning, I typically see funds by Monday evening or Tuesday morning at the latest. A few things to keep in mind: 1. The EDD still has to process your certification first (this is separate from the card processing time) 2. Your payment status in UI Online will show "paid" before it actually hits your card 3. Money Network processes payments in batches, not continuously like BOA seemed to If UI Online shows your certification as "paid" but it's not on your card after 48 hours, then you should contact Money Network support directly.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! My UI Online does show "paid" as of this morning, so I guess I just need to be more patient. I wish EDD had made the processing time difference more clear when they switched over.

IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING MASSIVE PROBLEMS with this stupid Money Network transition?? Not only are payments SLOWER but their app crashes CONSTANTLY and their customer service is TERRIBLE!!!! I've been on unemployment for 3 months and this switch has been a NIGHTMARE! I certified Sunday at 12:01am and STILL don't have my money!!! With BOA I'd have it by Sunday night EVERY TIME!! Now I'm going to be late on my car payment! WHY did EDD have to change something that was WORKING FINE?!?!?

I totally get your frustration. The Money Network system isn't as user-friendly as BOA was. One thing that helped me was setting up direct deposit through UI Online instead of waiting for card deposits. The funds hit my regular bank account much faster that way - usually by Monday afternoon when I certify Sunday morning. Might be worth looking into if you're consistently having issues with the card.

same day deposits were nice with BOA but honestly the money network card isnt that bad. ive had both and yeah its a day or 2 slower but as long as you plan for it no big deal. my last payment hit tuesday morning after sunday certification.

EASY TO SAY when you're not about to miss PAYMENTS!! Some of us live paycheck to paycheck and can't just "plan" to not have money we're ENTITLED TO!!

I've been helping several clients navigate this transition from BOA to Money Network. Here's what I can tell you based on what we've observed: 1. Money Network processing is consistently 24-48 hours after EDD shows "paid" status 2. Direct deposit to your personal bank account is now the fastest option (usually 24 hours after paid status) 3. The Money Network mobile app sends notifications when deposits are pending One important thing to note: If you're experiencing delays beyond 48 hours after seeing "paid" status in UI Online, it could indicate an account verification issue. Many claimants don't realize Money Network has a separate verification process that sometimes requires additional documentation. Also, for anyone struggling to reach EDD about payment delays or other issues, I've had clients have success using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual EDD representative. They have a service that helps you bypass the phone queue - you can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Might be worth checking out if you're having trouble getting answers about your specific payment situation.

Thanks for the detailed info. I'm going to check if my Money Network account is fully verified - hadn't thought of that. If I still don't see the deposit by tomorrow, I might try that Claimyr service to talk to someone at EDD. At this point I just need to know exactly when to expect the money so I can plan accordingly.

I switched from getting payments on the card to direct deposit to my credit union account and it's WAY faster. Usually hits monday afternoon after sunday certification. The Money Network card was taking until wednesday sometimes which was creating problems for my bills. Just my experience but might help someone!

This is excellent advice. Direct deposit is definitely the most efficient option now with the new system. Money Network card processing simply takes longer due to their batch processing schedule.

mine just hit the money network card like 5 mins ago so check yours maybe?

0 coins

OMG mine too! Just checked after seeing your comment. So that's about 36 hours after certification. Thanks everyone for the help! Going to look into setting up direct deposit for next time.

btw does anyone know if theres a fee to transfer money from the money network card to ur regular bank? with BOA it was free but i heard money network charges??

0 coins

Yes, Money Network does charge a small fee for transfers to your bank, usually around $1.50 per transfer. That's another reason why setting up direct deposit through UI Online is better - it bypasses the card completely and has no fees.

I've been on Money Network for about 6 weeks now and honestly it's been pretty consistent - just slower than BOA like everyone's saying. I certify Sunday mornings around 7am and typically get my deposit Monday night or Tuesday by noon latest. The key thing I learned is to check your UI Online account first - if it doesn't show "paid" yet then the delay is on EDD's end, not Money Network. Once it shows paid, give it 24-48 hours max. Also pro tip: sign up for text notifications through the Money Network app so you know immediately when it hits instead of constantly checking your balance!

Thanks for the tip about the text notifications! I just signed up for those through the Money Network app. It's definitely reassuring to hear that the timing has been consistent for you. I think I was just spoiled by the BOA same-day deposits and need to adjust my expectations. At least now I know what to expect going forward - certify Sunday, expect money by Tuesday at the latest.

I made the switch to Money Network about 3 weeks ago and can confirm the slower timeline. What I've noticed is that it's pretty predictable though - I certify Sunday morning and consistently get my deposit Tuesday morning around 8-9am. It's definitely an adjustment from BOA's same-day processing, but once you know the pattern it's easier to plan around. One thing that helped me was setting up low balance alerts on my regular checking account so I know when I need to bridge the gap for a day or two between certification and deposit. The Money Network customer service has been hit or miss when I've called, but the actual deposit timing has been reliable for me.

0 coins

That's really helpful to know about the consistent Tuesday morning timing! I'm new to the Money Network system and was getting worried about the delay compared to BOA. Setting up low balance alerts is a smart idea - I hadn't thought about bridging the gap like that. It sounds like once you adjust to the new timeline it's manageable, just requires better planning ahead. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I switched to Money Network about a month ago and have found the timing to be pretty consistent - just different from what we were used to with BOA. I certify Sunday morning around 6am and typically see my deposit hit Tuesday morning between 9-11am. It's definitely slower than the BOA same-day deposits, but once I adjusted my budget timeline it's been manageable. The thing that really helped me was switching to direct deposit to my regular bank account instead of using the Money Network card - that usually hits Monday evening after Sunday certification, which is much closer to the old BOA timing. You can set this up through your UI Online account under payment preferences. Also, I'd recommend checking if your Money Network account is fully verified since that can cause additional delays. Hope this helps and glad to see others confirming similar timelines!

This is super helpful! I'm brand new to unemployment benefits and just got my Money Network card last week. I was really confused about why my first payment was taking so long compared to what I'd heard about the old system. It's reassuring to hear that the Tuesday morning timeline is consistent for multiple people. I think I'll definitely look into switching to direct deposit like you mentioned - Monday evening sounds much more manageable for my budget. Thanks for explaining about the account verification too, I'll double check that mine is complete. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here, it's made me feel much less anxious about the whole process!

I just got my Money Network card two weeks ago after being on BOA for over a year, and I can definitely confirm the slower timeline everyone's mentioning. With BOA I'd certify Sunday at midnight and have my money by Sunday evening like clockwork. Now with Money Network, I certify Sunday morning and it's been hitting Wednesday mornings around 10am consistently. It's definitely an adjustment when you're used to same-day processing! What's helped me is treating Wednesday as my "payday" now and budgeting accordingly. I also signed up for the text alerts through their app which at least gives me peace of mind when it does hit. Still miss the BOA speed though - not sure why EDD had to fix something that wasn't broken!

Wednesday mornings seems a bit slower than what most others are experiencing - I've been seeing Tuesday morning consistently. Have you checked if your Money Network account verification is complete? Someone mentioned earlier that incomplete verification can add extra delays. Also, you might want to consider switching to direct deposit like others have suggested - it seems to be faster than the card deposits. I totally agree though that it's frustrating they changed a system that was working so well with BOA!

I've been using Money Network for about 2 months now and can share my experience. The timing has been pretty consistent - I certify Sunday morning around 8am and typically see my deposit hit Tuesday afternoon between 2-4pm. It's definitely slower than BOA's same-day processing, but once you know what to expect it's manageable. One thing I learned is that Money Network processes in batches rather than continuously like BOA seemed to, which explains the delay. I'd recommend checking your UI Online status first - if it shows "paid" then you should see the money within 24-48 hours on your card. If you're consistently having issues with timing, definitely consider switching to direct deposit through UI Online - several people here have mentioned it's faster. Also make sure your Money Network account is fully verified as that can cause additional delays. Hang in there, it's an adjustment but the timing becomes predictable once you get used to it!

This is really reassuring to hear! I'm completely new to unemployment benefits and just got my Money Network card this week. I was getting really stressed because I expected the same-day deposits I'd heard about from friends who had the old BOA cards. Knowing that Tuesday afternoon is a consistent timeline for you helps me plan better. I just certified for the first time yesterday (Sunday) so I guess I'll be watching for it Tuesday afternoon! The batch processing explanation makes sense too - explains why it's not as immediate as BOA was. Thanks for the detailed breakdown, it's exactly what I needed to hear as a newcomer to this system.

I've been on the Money Network card for about 4 months now and wanted to share what I've learned about the timing patterns. The key thing is understanding that there are actually TWO separate processing steps: first EDD has to approve and process your certification (this is what shows as "paid" in UI Online), then Money Network has to process the actual deposit to your card. With BOA, these seemed to happen almost simultaneously, but with Money Network there's definitely a gap between the two. My typical timeline: Certify Sunday morning around 7am → UI Online shows "paid" by Monday afternoon → Money Network deposit hits Tuesday morning between 8-10am. So it's about 48-60 hours total from certification to money in hand. A few tips that have helped me: 1) Set up the Money Network mobile app notifications so you know immediately when it hits, 2) Don't panic if UI Online shows "paid" but your card balance hasn't updated yet - that's normal, 3) If you need faster access, definitely switch to direct deposit through UI Online instead of using the card. The slower timeline was definitely an adjustment coming from BOA, but once you know what to expect you can plan around it. Hope this helps ease some anxiety for folks still figuring out the new system!

This breakdown is incredibly helpful! I'm about 3 weeks into using the Money Network system and was getting confused about why there seemed to be such a delay between seeing "paid" status and actually getting the money. Understanding that it's two separate processing steps makes so much sense - with BOA it felt like one seamless process but clearly Money Network handles it differently. Your timeline matches what I've been experiencing too - certify Sunday, paid status Monday, money Tuesday morning. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain the whole process, especially the tip about not panicking when UI Online shows paid but the card hasn't updated yet. That gap between the two always made me worried something went wrong! Definitely going to set up those mobile notifications now.

I've been dealing with the Money Network transition for about 6 weeks now and wanted to add my experience to help others understand the timeline. Like many others here, I was used to BOA's same-day deposits and the switch definitely took some adjustment. My consistent pattern has been: Certify Sunday morning around 6:30am → UI Online shows "paid" by Monday evening → Money Network deposit hits Tuesday between 10am-12pm. So roughly 48-54 hours from certification to funds available. What really helped me was understanding that Money Network processes payments in scheduled batches (usually overnight Monday into Tuesday morning) rather than the more continuous processing BOA seemed to have. Once I accepted that Tuesday late morning was my new "payday" instead of Sunday evening, it became much easier to manage. For anyone still struggling with the timing: definitely set up the push notifications in the Money Network app, and consider direct deposit to your regular bank if you need faster access. The card deposits are reliable once you know the schedule, just slower than what we were all used to. Hang in there - the predictability helps once you've been through a few cycles!

This is exactly the kind of detailed timeline breakdown I needed to see! I'm brand new to unemployment benefits and just received my Money Network card last week. I was getting really anxious because I certified for the first time this past Sunday and expected to see money by now based on what I'd heard about the old system. Your explanation about the scheduled batch processing makes perfect sense - it's not that the system is broken, it's just structured differently than BOA was. Knowing that Tuesday late morning is the consistent pattern for multiple people here gives me so much peace of mind. I'm definitely going to set up those push notifications right now and start thinking of Tuesday as my new payday. Thanks for sharing your experience and helping newcomers like me understand what's normal!

I've been on the Money Network card for about 8 weeks now and wanted to share my experience to help others adjust to the new timeline. Coming from BOA where I'd get same-day deposits, the switch was definitely jarring at first. My consistent pattern: Certify Sunday morning around 7am → UI Online shows "paid" by Monday afternoon → Money Network deposit hits Tuesday morning between 9-11am. Total time from certification to funds is usually 48-52 hours. A few things that made the transition smoother for me: 1) I started treating Tuesday morning as my official "payday" and adjusted my budget timeline accordingly, 2) Set up text notifications through the Money Network app so I know exactly when it hits, 3) Created a small buffer in my checking account to cover the extra day or two between certification and deposit. For anyone considering alternatives, I looked into switching to direct deposit but honestly once I got used to the Tuesday morning schedule, the card works fine for my needs. The timing is very predictable - it's just different from what we were all used to with BOA. The key is adjusting your expectations and planning accordingly rather than hoping for the old same-day timeline to return.

This is such a comprehensive overview, thank you! I'm completely new to the unemployment system and just got my Money Network card yesterday. I was really confused about what to expect timing-wise since everyone kept mentioning how much faster BOA used to be. Your approach of treating Tuesday morning as the official payday and creating a buffer in your checking account is really smart - I hadn't thought about adjusting my budget timeline like that. I'm definitely going to set up those text notifications right away too. It's reassuring to hear from someone who's been through multiple cycles that the timing really is predictable once you adjust expectations. I'll certify for the first time this Sunday so I guess Tuesday morning will be my first real test of the system! Really appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed advice for newcomers like me.

I've been using the Money Network card for about 3 months now and can definitely confirm what everyone's saying about the slower timeline. My experience has been pretty consistent: certify Sunday morning around 8am, UI Online shows "paid" by Monday evening, and Money Network deposit hits Tuesday morning between 10am-noon. So it's roughly 50+ hours from certification to actual funds, compared to the 8-12 hours we used to get with BOA. What helped me adjust was realizing this isn't a bug, it's just how their system works - Money Network processes in scheduled batches rather than the more real-time processing BOA had. I also switched some of my automatic bill payments from Monday to Wednesday to account for the new timing. One tip that's been a lifesaver: if you're really struggling with the delayed timeline, you can switch to direct deposit through your UI Online account. I tested it for a few weeks and consistently got deposits Monday evening after Sunday certification - much closer to the old BOA timing. I ended up switching back to the card for other reasons, but direct deposit is definitely faster if you need it.

This is really helpful information! I just received my Money Network card last week and was wondering about the timeline differences. Your explanation about batch processing vs real-time makes perfect sense - it's not that the system is slower by accident, it's just designed differently. I'm glad to hear the Tuesday morning timing has been consistent for you over 3 months. I think I'll try the card system first since I just got it, but it's good to know direct deposit is an option if I need faster access. The tip about moving bill payments to Wednesday is smart too - I hadn't thought about adjusting my other financial schedule around the new deposit timing. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I just got my Money Network card this week and am going through my first certification cycle, so this thread has been incredibly helpful! Based on everyone's experiences, it sounds like the key is adjusting expectations - instead of expecting BOA's same-day deposits, plan for Tuesday morning as the new "payday" after Sunday certification. I'm definitely going to set up those mobile notifications right away and maybe create a small buffer in my checking account like others suggested. It's reassuring to see so many people confirming the Tuesday morning timeline is consistent, even if it's slower than what we're used to. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences - it's made me feel much less anxious about the transition!

Welcome to the Money Network experience! You're smart to read through everyone's experiences before your first cycle - I wish I had done that when I made the switch a few months ago. The Tuesday morning timeline really is consistent from what I've seen across multiple certification periods. One thing I'd add to the great advice already shared is to screenshot your UI Online "paid" status when it shows up Monday - it gives you peace of mind during that 24-48 hour gap before the money hits your card. The mobile notifications are definitely a must-have too. The adjustment period is real, but once you get through your first few cycles and see the pattern for yourself, it becomes much more manageable. Good luck with your first certification!

I've been on the Money Network card for about 5 weeks now and can add to what others are saying. My timeline has been very consistent: certify Sunday morning around 6am, see "paid" status in UI Online by Monday afternoon, and get the actual deposit Tuesday morning around 9-10am. It's definitely a slower process than BOA's same-day deposits, but the predictability helps once you adjust your planning. One thing I learned the hard way - make sure to check that your Money Network account is fully verified. My first payment was delayed an extra day because I hadn't completed all the verification steps they require. Also, their customer service is pretty hit-or-miss if you need to call, so having all your account details ready helps if you do need to contact them. For anyone still frustrated with the timing, I'd definitely recommend looking into direct deposit through UI Online like others mentioned. I tested it for a couple weeks and it was noticeably faster - usually hit my regular bank Monday evening after Sunday certification.

Thanks for mentioning the verification issue! I just got my Money Network card and hadn't thought to check if everything was fully verified. I'm going to log into my account right now to make sure all the steps are complete before I do my first certification this Sunday. It's really helpful to hear from someone who learned that lesson the hard way - saves me from potentially having the same delay. The Tuesday morning timeline everyone's describing seems very consistent, so knowing about potential verification delays is super valuable. I'm also going to keep that direct deposit option in mind if I find the card timing doesn't work well with my budget schedule.
