Money Network debit card payment timeline - anyone getting paid faster than BOA?
Has anyone figured out the payment timeline with the new Money Network debit card? I just switched from the BOA card last month. With BOA, I'd certify early Sunday morning and typically see funds deposited between 8-9pm that same night. It was super reliable. I certified this past Sunday at 6am, but I'm still waiting for the money to hit my Money Network card. It's been over 24 hours now and I'm starting to get anxious. My rent is due Friday and I'm cutting it close. For those who've been using the Money Network card for a while, what's been your experience with payment timing? Is it slower than the old BOA system? Do payments typically come the next day instead of same day now?

•Ugh, that's really frustrating. Did they explain anywhere that the processing would be slower? I don't remember reading that when they announced the switch.

The Money Network cards generally have a 24-48 hour processing time after your certification is approved. This is different from Bank of America's system which often processed same-day. I've been on the Money Network card since the transition in January, and I've found that if I certify early Sunday morning, I typically see funds by Monday evening or Tuesday morning at the latest. A few things to keep in mind: 1. The EDD still has to process your certification first (this is separate from the card processing time) 2. Your payment status in UI Online will show "paid" before it actually hits your card 3. Money Network processes payments in batches, not continuously like BOA seemed to If UI Online shows your certification as "paid" but it's not on your card after 48 hours, then you should contact Money Network support directly.

•Thank you for the detailed explanation! My UI Online does show "paid" as of this morning, so I guess I just need to be more patient. I wish EDD had made the processing time difference more clear when they switched over.

IS ANYONE ELSE HAVING MASSIVE PROBLEMS with this stupid Money Network transition?? Not only are payments SLOWER but their app crashes CONSTANTLY and their customer service is TERRIBLE!!!! I've been on unemployment for 3 months and this switch has been a NIGHTMARE! I certified Sunday at 12:01am and STILL don't have my money!!! With BOA I'd have it by Sunday night EVERY TIME!! Now I'm going to be late on my car payment! WHY did EDD have to change something that was WORKING FINE?!?!?

•I totally get your frustration. The Money Network system isn't as user-friendly as BOA was. One thing that helped me was setting up direct deposit through UI Online instead of waiting for card deposits. The funds hit my regular bank account much faster that way - usually by Monday afternoon when I certify Sunday morning. Might be worth looking into if you're consistently having issues with the card.

same day deposits were nice with BOA but honestly the money network card isnt that bad. ive had both and yeah its a day or 2 slower but as long as you plan for it no big deal. my last payment hit tuesday morning after sunday certification.

•EASY TO SAY when you're not about to miss PAYMENTS!! Some of us live paycheck to paycheck and can't just "plan" to not have money we're ENTITLED TO!!

I've been helping several clients navigate this transition from BOA to Money Network. Here's what I can tell you based on what we've observed: 1. Money Network processing is consistently 24-48 hours after EDD shows "paid" status 2. Direct deposit to your personal bank account is now the fastest option (usually 24 hours after paid status) 3. The Money Network mobile app sends notifications when deposits are pending One important thing to note: If you're experiencing delays beyond 48 hours after seeing "paid" status in UI Online, it could indicate an account verification issue. Many claimants don't realize Money Network has a separate verification process that sometimes requires additional documentation. Also, for anyone struggling to reach EDD about payment delays or other issues, I've had clients have success using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an actual EDD representative. They have a service that helps you bypass the phone queue - you can see how it works in their video demo: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km. Might be worth checking out if you're having trouble getting answers about your specific payment situation.

•Thanks for the detailed info. I'm going to check if my Money Network account is fully verified - hadn't thought of that. If I still don't see the deposit by tomorrow, I might try that Claimyr service to talk to someone at EDD. At this point I just need to know exactly when to expect the money so I can plan accordingly.

I switched from getting payments on the card to direct deposit to my credit union account and it's WAY faster. Usually hits monday afternoon after sunday certification. The Money Network card was taking until wednesday sometimes which was creating problems for my bills. Just my experience but might help someone!

•This is excellent advice. Direct deposit is definitely the most efficient option now with the new system. Money Network card processing simply takes longer due to their batch processing schedule.

•OMG mine too! Just checked after seeing your comment. So that's about 36 hours after certification. Thanks everyone for the help! Going to look into setting up direct deposit for next time.

btw does anyone know if theres a fee to transfer money from the money network card to ur regular bank? with BOA it was free but i heard money network charges??

•Yes, Money Network does charge a small fee for transfers to your bank, usually around $1.50 per transfer. That's another reason why setting up direct deposit through UI Online is better - it bypasses the card completely and has no fees.
