EDD website down today - will this delay our payments or certification?
I was trying to certify for benefits this morning and the EDD website is completely down. Just getting error messages and can't log in at all. My certification is due today and I'm freaking out a bit. Does anyone know if we just certify tomorrow when it's back up? Will this delay our payments? Should I be calling someone about this? Really need this payment to hit my account on time!

Don't panic too much, EDD usually gives you a little grace period if their system is down. You have until midnight tomorrow to certify before it becomes late. I've had this happen twice and both times I was able to certify next day with no payment delays.

the site crashes EVERY OTHER WEEK I swear!!! i'm so sick of this buggy system. been on unemployment since January and had website problems at least 6-7 times. ridiculous for a government site!!

I recommend trying to certify early tomorrow morning (around 5-6am) when fewer people are using the system. If the website is down for scheduled maintenance, it's usually back up by early morning. You have a 14-day window to certify without issue, though certifying on your assigned date is always preferable. If the site is still down tomorrow, then you should call EDD to certify by phone. You can use the UI Self-Service line at 1-866-333-4606. I wouldn't worry too much about payment delays unless you wait beyond 48 hours of your scheduled certification date.

Had the same issue earlier but was able to get in around 2pm. Try again later tonight, sometimes they do maintenance during certain hours and it comes back. Fyi if you miss certification day, you can still certify late and get paid, just not on the regular schedule.

If you're having trouble with the website and need to reach EDD urgently, I'd recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com). They helped me get through to an EDD rep when I had a similar situation last month with the website being down and needing to certify. •It's legitimate - they just help you get through the phone system faster. I spent 3 days trying to call on my own and kept getting the "we're experiencing high call volume" message. With them I got through in about 20 minutes. Totally worth it when you're desperate to talk to someone.

my friend had same problem last month, she just certified next day and got payment normal time. EDD knows when their site is down so they dont penalize u for it

This happens every other month honestly, and it's so frustrating. The most ridiculous part is that they never put any notice on their site saying "We're down for maintenance" - it just errors out. Like, how hard would it be to put up a simple message?? My system was rejecting my password earlier. I'm going to try again after midnight when there's less traffic. If it's still down tomorrow, definitely call them.
