EDD registration error: Info doesn't match despite having EDDCAN number. Help!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my unemployment claim. I filed back in November and got an EDD number, but when I try to register with it, the system says my info doesn't match. I've double-checked everything and I'm sure it's all correct. Has anyone else run into this? Any ideas on what might be going on or how to fix it?

Ugh, that sucks. The EDD system is such a mess. Have you tried calling them? Sometimes you gotta talk to a real person to sort this stuff out.

Yeah, I've been trying to call but it's impossible to get through. It's so frustrating!

Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through if youre one of the first callers of the day.

Calling is a nightmare. I spent 3 weeks trying to get through. It's like they don't want us to actually get our benefits 🙄

I had the exact same problem! Turns out there was a typo in my birthdate on their end. Took forever to get it fixed, but keep trying. You might need to verify your identity again.

Have you checked if theres a difference between the info on your claim and your drivers license? Sometimes that can cause issues.

Good idea, I'll double check that. Thanks!

Guys, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. It worked like a charm. Got through to an agent in about 2 hours without having to sit by my phone.

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 😤

I get it, but for me it was worth it. I was losing way more than $20 by not getting my claim sorted out. Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, ya know?

Here's what you need to do: 1. Double-check all your info: Make sure everything matches exactly with what's on your driver's license or state ID. 2. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then try again. Sometimes it's just a weird tech glitch. 3. If that doesn't work, you might need to verify your identity. Look for an option to do ID verification online. 4. As a last resort, you'll need to call. Use the trick someone mentioned about calling right when they open. 5. If you still can't get through, consider using one of those paid services that wait on hold for you. It sucks to pay, but sometimes it's worth it to get things moving. Don't give up! The system is frustrating, but persistence pays off. Good luck!

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? Sometimes they can help push things through faster.

I didn't even know that was an option. How do I find out who my assembly member is?

Just google '[your city] assembly member'. Their office should have a way to contact them for constituent services. They deal with EDD issues all the time.
