EDD phone appointment letter has wrong number - How to fix before next week?
I got a letter in the mail with a phone appointment, but the phone number they have for me is wrong. The appointment is scheduled for next week. What should I do? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm worried they won't be able to reach me and I'll miss my appointment.

Ugh, classic government efficiency 🙄 Here's what you need to do: 1. Call them ASAP 2. Explain the situation 3. Give them your correct number 4. Ask for written confirmation of the change 5. Double-check a day before the appointment Good luck dealing with the bureaucracy!

•This is solid advice. I had a similar issue last year and following these steps saved me from missing my appointment.

•True, getting through can be a nightmare. But OP has to try, or they'll def miss the appointment. No pain, no gain 🤷♂️

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Have you tried updating your info online? Sometimes that's faster than calling. Just log into your account and check if you can edit your contact details there.

•I tried that first, but the system wouldn't let me change my phone number. Said I had to call to verify my identity or something 🙄

•Oof, that sucks. Guess you'll have to brave the phone lines after all. Good luck!

Pro tip: if you do get through on the phone, ask them to read back your info to make sure everything else is correct too. I've heard horror stories of people fixing one thing only to discover other errors later.

•This! 👆 Always double-check EVERYTHING when dealing with govt agencies. Trust but verify, as they say.

Quick question - did you recently change your number? Sometimes these letters are generated weeks in advance, so if you changed your number recently, that might explain the mixup.

•Nope, same number for years. No idea how they got it wrong 🤷♀️
