Missed EDD phone interview and got disconnected - How to reschedule?

I totally messed up and missed my phone interview with EDD. When I tried to call back and talk to someone, I got disconnected. Now I'm freaking out about what to do next. Has anyone else been through this? Any advice on how to reschedule or get back in touch with them?

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. EDD's phone system is a nightmare. Have you tried calling right when they open? Sometimes that works better.

Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

Early morning calls are hit or miss. I had better luck calling around 3pm, less traffic then.

Good point! I guess it varies. Maybe try both times if the morning doesn't work out, OP?

Ugh, that sucks! I've been there before. The EDD system is such a nightmare to deal with. Have you tried calling them back? Sometimes you gotta just keep hitting redial until you get through.

0 coins

Yeah, I've been trying all day but no luck. It's so frustrating! 😤 How long did it take you to finally get through?

0 coins

Honestly, it took me like 3 days of constant calling. I felt like I was losing my mind. But don't give up! Maybe try calling right when they open?

0 coins

3 days?! That's insane. The whole system needs an overhaul. We shouldn't have to jump through so many hoops just to talk to someone.

Don't panic! You can usually reschedule. Try logging into your EDD account online and see if there's an option to request a new interview date. If not, keep calling until you get through. It's frustrating, but persistence pays off.

Hey, don't panic! I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

0 coins

I was skeptical at first too, but it really did work for me. Saved me hours of frustration.

20 bucks tho? Kinda messed up we gotta pay just to talk to EDD 🙄

I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get through. Time is money, ya know?

$20 just to talk to someone? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤦‍♂️

0 coins

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho.

0 coins

Can you give more details about how it works? Do they guarantee you'll get through?

0 coins

They don't guarantee it, but they keep trying until they get someone. You just put in your number and they call you when there's a real person on the line. Took about 2 hours for me.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Don't freak out. Missed interviews happen all the time. 2. Try to reschedule online first. Log into your EDD account and look for any rescheduling options. 3. If that doesn't work, start calling. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on hold. 4. Call exactly at 8:00 AM when they open. That's usually the best time to get through. 5. If you can't get through, try sending a message through your online account. Sometimes they respond to those. 6. As a last resort, you can try contacting your local assembly member's office. They sometimes have direct lines to EDD. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely follow these steps. Really appreciate it! 💯

This is solid gold advice right here. Wish I had known all this when I was dealing with EDD last year!

Pro tip: If you missed your phone interview, you can sometimes request a new one online through your EDD account. Look for the 'Request a Phone Interview' option. Might save you some time on hold!

have u tried faxing them? sometimes old school methods work better with these dinosaur agencies lol

0 coins

Faxing? What year is it, 1995? 🤣

0 coins

laugh all u want but it worked for me! 🤷‍♂️

omg i'm in the EXACT same boat rn 😭 missed my interview yesterday and been trying to get thru all day. this system is a JOKE

0 coins

Ugh, I'm sorry you're dealing with this too. It's so stressful! Let me know if you figure anything out?

0 coins

will do! we're all in this sinking ship together lol

0 coins

I'm in the same boat, missed my interview last week. Been calling non-stop but no luck. This whole system is a joke. Good luck to you, OP!

0 coins

Pro tip: if you get disconnected, immediately call back. Sometimes you can get right through if you're quick enough.

0 coins

Thanks for the tip! I'll keep that in mind next time I try calling.

Anyone else think its crazy we gotta jump through all these hoops just to get our benefits? The system is broken af 😤

0 coins

Preach! 🙌 It's like they make it difficult on purpose.

0 coins

For real. We pay into this system our whole working lives and this is what we get? Smh

0 coins

Hey OP, what number were you calling? There's a special number for rescheduling missed interviews that sometimes works better.

0 coins

Oh really? I was just using the main EDD number. Do you have the special number?

0 coins

I think it's 1-800-300-5616, but double check on the EDD website to make sure it hasn't changed.

0 coins

Here's what you need to do: 1. Keep trying to call. The best times are usually right when they open or about an hour before they close. 2. Check your online account for any messages or updates about your missed interview. 3. If you can't get through by phone, try sending a message through your online account. Be polite but explain your situation clearly. 4. As a last resort, you might need to go to an EDD office in person. Bring all your documentation. 5. Document everything - dates you called, who you spoke to, what was said. 6. If all else fails, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes help push things through. Remember, missing an interview isn't the end of the world. They deal with this all the time. Just be persistent and patient. Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely try all of these. Really appreciate you taking the time to write this out!

This is gold 💯 Saving this for future reference!

have u tried faxing them? sounds old school but sometimes it works lol

0 coins

Wait, people still use fax machines? 🤣

govt agencies are living in the stone age man 🦕

I swear EDD is like playing the lottery. You might get lucky and get through, or you might waste your whole day listening to hold music. Anyone else feel like they're gonna go crazy if they hear that 'your call is important to us' message one more time?

0 coins

OMG YES. I hear that message in my nightmares now 😱

0 coins

I've been in this exact situation before! Here's what worked for me: First, don't panic - they understand people miss interviews. Try calling the dedicated interview line (1-800-300-5616) rather than the main number. If you can't get through, log into your EDD account and look for a "Request Interview" or "Reschedule Interview" option. Also, try calling at different times - I had luck around 2-3 PM when call volume was lower. Keep a log of when you called and any confirmation numbers. Worst case, you can contact your state assembly member's office for help. You've got this! 💪

0 coins

This is super helpful! I didn't even know there was a dedicated interview line. Going to try that number first thing tomorrow. Thanks for giving me some hope that this can actually get resolved! 🙏
