Confused about WorkSource virtual appointment via Zoom - do they send a link or call me?
I just got a letter saying I need to set up my WorkSource appointment by May 13th or risk losing benefits. I scheduled it as 'virtual' since I don't have reliable transportation, but then the only option was Zoom. Now I'm confused... do they email me a Zoom link before the appointment? Will someone call me with the link? Or am I supposed to contact them? The confirmation page didn't really explain anything, and my appointment is in 3 days. Don't want to mess this up and lose my benefits over something silly!

They should email you the Zoom link at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. Check the email address you used when registering for unemployment - it'll come from a WorkSource email address. Also check your spam folder if you don't see it. If you don't receive anything the day before your appointment, I'd recommend calling WorkSource directly to confirm. The virtual appointments are pretty straightforward once you get the link.

•Thanks! I'll watch for the email. Do you know if I need to have anything prepared for this appointment? The letter just said it's mandatory but didn't mention what we'll be discussing.

THEY NEVER SENT ME MY LINK!!! Had to call them 5 times before someone finally emailed it to me 10 minutes AFTER my appointment was supposed to start. Then they had the nerve to mark me as a no-show initially!!! Make sure you call if you don't get the link at least a day before. Their system is so broken it's ridiculous.

For WorkSource virtual appointments via Zoom, they're supposed to send the link to your email address 24-48 hours before your scheduled time. You'll need to prepare a few things for this appointment: 1. Your resume (if you have one) 2. List of jobs you've applied to recently 3. Any questions about job search resources The appointment is basically to make sure you're actively looking for work and to connect you with resources. They'll review your job search activities and might suggest training or workshops that could help your employment prospects. Make sure you attend - missing this appointment can result in benefits being put on hold.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I'll get my resume updated before the appointment. I've been keeping track of my job applications in a spreadsheet, so I'll have that ready too.

When I had my WorkSource appointment last month they were supposed to email me the link but it never came through. I waited and waited and then finally just had to try getting through on the phone which was a complete nightmare. Took me nearly 2 hours of calling before I reached someone who could help me.

•If you're having trouble reaching ESD or WorkSource by phone, try using Claimyr. It helped me get through when I was in a similar situation with my WorkSource appointment. They connect you with an ESD agent without the endless waiting and busy signals. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Saved me a ton of stress when I needed to get my appointment sorted out quickly.

•That's good to hear it wasn't too intense! Was it just one WorkSource person or a group meeting?

I did one of these in February and they sent the link like an hour before lol. But my friend had hers last week and never got a link and her benefits got put on hold! So definitely call them if you don't see an email soon.

•Oh no, that's exactly what I'm worried about! I'll definitely call if I don't get anything by tomorrow. Did your friend manage to get her benefits restored?
