Missed WorkSource appointment - no login info sent - what to do ASAP?
I'm literally panicking right now. I was scheduled for a mandatory WorkSource appointment today at 2pm, but I never received any login information or link for the virtual meeting. I've called the WorkSource office twice and left voicemails explaining the situation, but nobody has called me back. My appointment started 10 minutes ago, and I'm worried this will affect my UI benefits. Has anyone dealt with this before? What should I do to prove I wasn't trying to skip the appointment? Will this count against my claim?? I really can't afford to lose my benefits right now.

Take a screenshot of your phone showing the calls you made to them. Also, check your spam/junk email folders. Sometimes WorkSource emails get filtered there. Happened to me last month.

•Just checked spam folder - nothing there! I'll definitely take screenshots of my call log. Do you think I should keep trying to call them today or wait until tomorrow?

Don't panic! This happens more often than you think. Here's what you need to do: 1. Take screenshots of your call attempts with timestamps 2. Send an email to your WorkSource office right now explaining what happened 3. Check your ESD account messages to see if they sent info there instead 4. Log into your WorkSource account (if you have one) to see if there's info there They won't disqualify you immediately for one missed appointment, especially if you can document your attempts to connect. Make sure to do your weekly claim as normal and document this situation in the comments section.

•Thank you so much! I just logged into my WorkSource account and there's nothing there about the appointment. I'll email them right away with the screenshots. I'm just scared because my adjudicator warned me that missing WorkSource requirements could result in disqualification.

•Oh that's a good point - I should check my old email too. I changed emails a few months ago but thought I updated everything.

THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS A JOKE!!!!! They expect us to be available 24/7 but can't even send proper instructions. Then they'll deny benefits and make YOU prove it was THEIR mistake. I missed a workshop last year because they sent the info THE MORNING OF the appointment. Had to appeal for 6 WEEKS to get my benefits back. Document EVERYTHING.

•That's not entirely accurate. While documentation is important, one missed appointment with proof of attempting to attend won't automatically disqualify a claim. The WorkSource staff generally understands these issues happen and will reschedule without penalty if you contact them promptly.

I went through something similar in January. Call the WorkSource office first thing tomorrow morning and explain what happened. They'll reschedule you. Make sure to note this in your weekly claim. In the "able and available" section, you should still say "yes" because you WERE available for the appointment - you just didn't receive the information. Also, if you can't get through to them by phone tomorrow (which is common), I'd recommend using Claimyr. It helped me get through to an actual person at ESD when I had issues with my WorkSource requirements. Their system connects you with an agent without the hours of waiting on hold. You can see how it works at claimyr.com or check their video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3.

•Yes, it's legitimate. I was skeptical too but it actually worked and saved me hours of hold time. They just help you get connected to an actual ESD agent who can help with your claim.

UPDATE: I finally got through to someone at WorkSource! They said there was a technical glitch in their system and several people didn't get the meeting info. They're rescheduling me for next week and noted in my file that today wasn't my fault. Such a relief! Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

•That's great to hear! Make sure to save a copy of any email confirmation they send you about the rescheduled appointment. Also, keep a record of who you spoke with (name, date, time). Always good to have that documentation just in case there are any questions about it later.

For future reference, I always put WorkSource emails on my priority list and check my account two days before any scheduled appointment. Their system isn't great about sending reminders. I even set calendar alerts a week before, 2 days before, and day of. Seems excessive but has saved me from missing appointments. The reemployment workshops are actually useful for job search resources too!

•That's smart! I'm going to set up multiple reminders for the rescheduled appointment. Definitely learned my lesson about being proactive with these requirements.

when i had my worksource thing I showed up to the office in person after not getting emails. turns out they had my email wrong by ONE letter! maybe check if your contact info is correct on file too just to be safe for next time

•That's such a good point! I should definitely double-check all my contact info with both ESD and WorkSource to make sure everything is current. One wrong letter could explain so many missed communications. Thanks for the tip!

Glad everything worked out! This is exactly why it's so important to document everything and keep trying to reach them. For anyone else reading this - if you ever have technical issues with WorkSource appointments, don't just assume it's on your end. Their system does have glitches sometimes, and the staff are usually understanding when you can show you made a good faith effort to attend. Keep those call logs and screenshots handy!

•Absolutely agree! This thread shows how helpful this community can be when people share their experiences. I'm new here but dealing with similar ESD issues, and seeing how @Sophia Russo got help and resolved her situation gives me hope. The advice about documenting everything and being persistent really resonates - it seems like that s'the key to navigating these bureaucratic challenges successfully.
