WorkSource virtual meeting - no zoom link sent with 24 min to go - normal or problem?
I'm freaking out a little bit here. I've got a mandatory WorkSource workshop scheduled to start in 24 minutes (required to keep my UI benefits), but they still haven't sent me the Zoom link. The confirmation email just said they'd send meeting access info 'before the workshop.' Is this normal for them to wait until the last second? I'm worried about missing it and getting my benefits cut off. Do I need to call someone? The workshop confirmation doesn't even list a contact number! Has anyone dealt with this before?

Don't panic! They ALWAYS do this. My last 2 workshops they sent the link literally 5 minutes before start time. Super stressful but seems to be how they operate. Just keep checking your email (including spam folder).

•Omg thank you! I was about to have a heart attack. Will keep refreshing my email. Just seems so unprofessional to cut it this close for something that can affect our benefits.

This is standard procedure with WorkSource virtual workshops. They typically send links 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time. It's done intentionally to prevent early logins that can cause technical issues with their system. Make sure to check your junk/spam folders as well. If you don't receive anything 5 minutes before start time, you can call the main WorkSource number at 800-318-6022 and explain the situation. They should be able to help or note your account that you attempted to attend.

•That number you listed is actually the general ESD claims center, not WorkSource directly. They probably can't help with workshop links. Each WorkSource office has their own local number that would be better to call for this kind of issue. That's why it's so frustrating - there's no centralized system!

THE SAME THING happened to me last month and I missed half the stupid workshop because the link came 10 min AFTER it started!!!! And then they marked me as LATE even though IT WAS THEIR FAULT!!! I had to fight with them for 2 weeks to not disqualify me for benefits. The whole system is set up to try to catch people out I swear!!!

•This happened to my neighbor too. I think they deliberately send them late so people miss them and they can deny benefits. One less person they have to pay.

•While I understand the frustration, there's no evidence WorkSource intentionally sends late links to disqualify people. They're usually understaffed and dealing with high volumes. That said, it's definitely a system improvement they should make. If anyone does miss a workshop due to a late link, be sure to document everything - screenshots showing when the link arrived, emails showing your attempts to contact them, etc. This documentation is crucial if you need to appeal.

I've had several WorkSource mandatory workshops and I always had to call them to get the link. Their email system is completely unreliable. Have you tried checking your account on WorkSourceWA.com? Sometimes they post the links there under your dashboard or messages section instead of sending emails. Also check spam folder! Last resort - if you can't get in, take screenshots of your attempts to login/contact them as proof you tried if they later question your attendance.

•Thank you! I'm panicking here - just checked WorkSourceWA and don't see anything there either. No secondary email, nothing in spam. I'm going to try calling the number on my original appointment confirmation.

when i had my workshop they sent link 5 min before and i almost missed it. make sure u have zoom already setup on ur computer and test it before so ur not scrambling last minute. they mark u absent if ur more than 5 min late its so dumb

If you're still waiting for the link with less than 15 minutes to go, I would recommend trying to reach ESD directly. Unfortunately, their phone lines are notoriously difficult to get through. Many people have had success using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to connect with an ESD agent quickly. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 showing how it works. You can explain your situation about the missing WorkSource link, and they can make a note on your account that you attempted to attend, which protects your benefits if there's an issue later.

•Just got the link!!! It came through exactly 8 minutes before the workshop. Cutting it way too close for my comfort. I'll keep that Claimyr thing in mind though - I've been trying to reach someone about another issue with my claim for weeks with no luck.

Did you make it to the workshop? Hope it went ok!

•Yes! Got in with 5 minutes to spare. Workshop was actually pretty helpful - learned some resume tips I hadn't heard before. But seriously, they need to send these links earlier. My anxiety was through the roof!

•It was better than I expected honestly. Some slide reading but also breakout rooms where we practiced answering interview questions. The facilitator seemed to actually care. Just make sure you participate when they ask questions - they definitely noticed who was engaged vs who was just logging in to check the box.
