Can't find WorkSource appointment scheduling link after clicking email - help?

Hi everyone! I got an email from ESD saying I need to schedule a WorkSource appointment (mandatory for continued benefits I guess??). But when I click the scheduling link in the email, it just takes me to the regular unemployment homepage. I've spent the last hour clicking around trying to find where to actually schedule this appointment, but I'm getting nowhere. The deadline is coming up and I'm worried about losing benefits. Has anyone else had this problem? Where the heck is the actual scheduling page?? Any help would be REALLY appreciated!

same thing happened 2 me last week. so annoying! try going to WorkSourceWA.com directly instead of using the esd link. u have to create a separate account there if u dont have 1 already

Thank you! I'll try that right now. Do you know if I need to use the same email address that's on my ESD account?

The WorkSource appointment scheduling is actually done through WorkSourceWA.com, not the ESD website. Here's how to do it properly: 1. Go directly to WorkSourceWA.com 2. Create an account if you don't already have one 3. Once logged in, click on "Menu" then "My Calendar" 4. Look for "Schedule an Appointment" option 5. Select your local WorkSource office from the dropdown 6. Choose the appointment type (for UI requirements, select "UI Orientation") 7. Pick an available date/time Make sure to save the confirmation as proof for your UI requirements. The system sometimes doesn't automatically report completed appointments back to ESD.

Oh wow, thank you SO MUCH for the detailed instructions! I didn't realize it was a completely separate website. No wonder I was so confused. Going to try this right now.

This is a super common issue! The ESD emails are confusing because they don't clearly explain that WorkSource has a separate system. After you schedule the appointment, take a screenshot of the confirmation and save it - I've had ESD claim I didn't attend my appointment even though I did, and having that proof saved me from losing benefits.

That's a great tip about the screenshot! I'll definitely do that. Did you have to do anything special to prove you attended after the appointment was over?

The ESD website is terrible. I spent 3 hours trying to figure this out too and missed my deadline. Had to call ESD to fix it but couldn't get through for DAYS. Their phone system is the worst!

If you're having trouble getting through to ESD on the phone, I'd recommend trying Claimyr (claimyr.com). It basically gets you through the ESD phone tree and holds your place in line. Saved me hours of frustration when I had issues with my WorkSource requirements not being recorded properly. They've got a video showing how it works here: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3

The WorkSource appointment and weekly job searches are two different requirements. You need to do BOTH: 1. Attend the one-time WorkSource orientation appointment 2. Complete at least 3 job search activities each week Make sure you're documenting all your job search activities in your weekly claim. The WorkSource appointment counts as one of your job search activities for the week you attend it.

Just wanted to update everyone - I got it scheduled! Thanks for all the help. The WorkSourceWA.com site worked perfectly. Had to create a new account, then found the appointment scheduling under the calendar section just like you all said. For anyone else stuck like I was - definitely go directly to the WorkSource site instead of trying to do it through ESD!

Great to hear! Make sure you show up 5-10 minutes early to the appointment (even if it's virtual). They sometimes mark you as a no-show if you're late, which can cause problems with your benefits. Also, during the appointment, they'll likely tell you about job search resources that are actually pretty helpful.
