EDD claim stuck in pending status - can't reach DSS. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my EDD claim. It's been stuck in pending status and I'm not sure what to do. I tried calling the Department of Social Services but couldn't get through. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get in touch with a real person?

Ugh, I feel your pain. EDD is a nightmare to deal with. I've been stuck in pending for weeks now. Have you tried calling early in the morning? That sometimes works for me.

•Early morning calls are hit or miss. I've had better luck calling right before they close. Less people trying to get through then.

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's what worked for me to get my pending status resolved: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and attempts to contact EDD. 2. Use the online portal to send a message. Sometimes they respond faster this way. 3. If you can't get through on the main line, try calling the employer line or the tech support line. They might be able to transfer you. 4. Contact your state representative or senator's office. They often have liaisons who can escalate your case. 5. If all else fails, file a complaint with the Department of Labor. It took me about 3 weeks, but I finally got it sorted. Don't give up!

Pro tip: if you're calling EDD, use a landline if possible. Cell signals can drop and you'll lose your place in the queue. Learned that the hard way after waiting 2 hours 😭

guys i think i figured it out. if you press 2, then 4, then wait 30 seconds and press 1, you can sometimes get through to a real person. its not guaranteed but ive had some luck with it
