EDD Money Network card mailed March 2nd but still not received - should I be worried?

Hello everyone! I'm getting super anxious about my EDD Money Network card. My UI Online account shows it was mailed out on March 2nd (12 days ago), but I still haven't received anything! I've already been approved for benefits and have 3 weeks of payments showing as 'paid' on my account, but I can't access any of the money without the card. How long should this normally take? I'm in the Central Valley area if that matters for mail delivery times. My rent is due next week and I'm starting to panic a little. Should I report it as lost or am I being impatient? Thanks in advance for any advice!

The Money Network cards are typically delivered within 7-10 business days after being mailed. Since you're at 12 days now, it's reasonable to be concerned. Two things you can try: 1) Call the Money Network customer service at 1-866-692-9374 to check if they can see if it was actually mailed and not just marked as mailed in the system. 2) If they confirm it was sent but you still don't have it, you can request they cancel that card and send a replacement. Just know that replacement cards can take another 7-10 business days.

Thank you for the advice! I'll try calling Money Network tomorrow morning. Do you know if there's any way to expedite the replacement card if I have to go that route? The thought of waiting another 10 days is making me nervous about paying bills.

That's actually reassuring to hear. Maybe I'm overthinking it! Did your online account also show 'paid' for a while before you actually got the card?

I had a similar issue in January. Called EDD for 4 days straight and could never get through because of the 'maximum callers' message. So frustrating! Finally I used Claimyr.com which got me connected to an EDD rep in about 20 minutes. They confirmed my card had been mailed but there was a small address issue which is why it was delayed. The rep was able to verify my correct address and expedite a new card. They have a video showing how it works at https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km if you want to check it out. Way better than burning days trying to get through on your own.

Oh wow, I hadn't heard of this service! I've been trying to call EDD for the past two days with no luck. This might be exactly what I need, especially if there's an issue with my address. Thank you for sharing!

THEY ARE PURPOSELY DELAYING CARDS!!!!! This is how they save money by making us wait and get desperate so we'll take any job instead of getting our ENTITLED benefits! My first card never came and when I finally got a replacement, it came with $39 in random fees already taken out! THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED!!!!

I understand your frustration, but there's no evidence of deliberate delays. The fees you mentioned sound unusual though - Money Network shouldn't be charging fees for standard transactions. You might want to review those charges and contest them if they're not for services you used.

Check ur informed delivery from usps if u signed up for that. sometimes u can see if its coming that day. also make sure ur mailbox isnt full and that ur address is EXACTLY right on ur edd account. my friend had his apartment # missing and the card got sent back to edd.

That's a smart idea - I just signed up for Informed Delivery now. And I double-checked my address on my EDD account and everything looks correct, including my apartment number. Thanks for the suggestions!

Cards are taking longer than usual right now due to processing backlogs. Here's what you should do: 1. First, verify your address is correct in UI Online 2. Call Money Network directly (not EDD) at 1-866-692-9374 3. If no resolution after speaking with Money Network, then contact EDD Money Network is a separate entity from EDD, and they handle all card distribution. In some cases, particularly in certain ZIP codes, mail delivery has been taking up to 15 business days (that's 3 weeks of calendar days). If you need immediate access to your funds and you do need to request a replacement, ask Money Network about their expedited delivery option which can get you a card in 3-5 business days for a fee.

This is so helpful, thank you! I didn't realize I should contact Money Network directly first instead of EDD. And I had no idea about the expedited option - that would be worth the fee for me right now. I'll call them first thing tomorrow.

My card took exactly 11 business days to arrive last month. So you're just outside the normal window. One thing nobody mentioned - once you do get your card, immediately set up your direct deposit information! That way, future payments go straight to your bank account instead of waiting for the card to be loaded. I learned this the hard way after my first claim.

That's excellent advice - I definitely want to set up direct deposit as soon as possible. Did you find that process easy to do once you got your card?

Super easy! Once you get the card, you just create your Money Network account online, then go to the direct deposit section. Have your bank routing and account numbers ready. Takes maybe 5 minutes. After that, it took 2 business days for my test deposit to verify, then all future payments went straight to my bank.

try calling ur post office maybe? sometimes they hold stuff and dont deliver it for some reason

While checking with your local post office is generally a good idea for missing mail, EDD Money Network cards are sent in unmarked envelopes for security reasons, so the post office wouldn't necessarily know they're holding an EDD card specifically. But it's still worth asking if they're holding any mail for your address.

Update: I called Money Network this morning and they confirmed my card was mailed on March 2nd as shown in my UI Online account. They said due to high volume, delivery can take up to 15 business days, which would be next Tuesday. The agent suggested waiting until then before requesting a replacement, since replacement cards take the same amount of time unless I pay for expedited shipping. I think I'll wait until Tuesday, and if it doesn't come, I'll use that Claimyr service to reach EDD directly to see if there's anything else that might be causing the delay. Thanks everyone for your help!

Good plan. One more tip - when your card does arrive, register it immediately on the Money Network site and set up account alerts. That way you'll get text notifications whenever new payments are deposited to your card, which is helpful for tracking your claim.
