EDD Money Network Card Delays - Anyone else still waiting after certification?
I'm seriously stressing about my EDD Money Network card! I was approved for benefits 3 weeks ago and certified twice already, but STILL haven't received my payment card in the mail. The EDD website shows payments as "paid" but I obviously can't access the money without the actual card. Customer service said it could take 7-10 business days but it's been way longer than that. Has anyone else experienced major delays getting their card recently? How long did yours take to arrive? I'm certifying again this weekend and getting really anxious about having multiple payments stuck on a card I don't even have yet. Any advice on how to check the status or expedite delivery?

Same boat! Been waiting almost a month for my card. EDD says payments are issued but Money Network keeps saying "your card has been mailed" when I call their automated system. It's incredibly frustrating. I tried calling EDD but can't get through to ask if they can expedite it. Did they at least tell you when exactly they mailed yours?

•They were super vague when I talked to them. Just said "it should have been mailed within 3-5 business days after your first payment processed" but couldn't give me an exact date. Did you try the Money Network customer service number? I've been thinking of calling them directly instead of EDD.

•5 WEEKS?? Omg that's insane! Thanks for the suggestion about informed delivery - I just signed up for it. At least I'll know when it's finally on its way.

I've helped several people through this situation. Here's what you need to know: 1. First cards can take 10-14 business days (not calendar days) 2. If it's been more than 14 business days, call Money Network directly at 1-866-320-8699 3. When prompted by the automated system, choose the option to report a lost/stolen card - this is the fastest way to get to a human 4. They can tell you exactly when it was mailed and even expedite a replacement (may cost $10) 5. Make sure your address is 100% correct in your EDD account Don't worry about certifying while waiting - your funds will accumulate and be available once you activate the card. You can also set up direct deposit once you get the card if you prefer that for future payments.

•Thank you SO much for these detailed steps! I didn't realize choosing the lost/stolen option would get me to a human faster. I'll definitely try this tomorrow. Really appreciate the reassurance about the funds accumulating too - that was a major worry.

This happened to me back in January. Turns out my card got sent to my old address even though I updated my info with EDD. Double-check your contact info is current everywhere!!

•That's a good point! I moved last year but I'm pretty sure I updated everything when I filed my claim. I'll log in and double check all my info right now just to be safe.

I work in benefits assistance, and card delays are unfortunately common right now. The current average I'm seeing is 12-15 business days for first-time cards, with some taking up to 20 business days due to mail processing backlogs. A few important facts about Money Network cards: - Your funds are safe even if the card is delayed - they don't expire or get returned - Once you have the card, you can switch to direct deposit for faster future payments - You can request expedited delivery of a replacement card (usually $10 fee) - If your address has ANY errors (even a missing apartment number), it can cause major delays The best number to call for card status is directly to Money Network: 1-866-320-8699. Select options for card not received rather than general questions.

•Is there a way to switch to direct deposit WITHOUT having the card first? That's what's so frustrating - I need to activate the card to set up direct deposit, but I don't have the card!

•Unfortunately, no - you need to activate the card first before setting up direct deposit. It's a security measure to verify your identity. Once you get the card, though, you can set up direct deposit and future payments will go straight to your bank account within 1-2 business days after certification is processed.

This is EXACTLY why I absolutely HATE the EDD system!!! They make everything so complicated and then don't communicate AT ALL. I had to wait 6 WEEKS for my card earlier this year while my bills piled up. Called 32 times in one day and never got through to anyone!!! And then they have the nerve to say "we're here to help" - YEAH RIGHT!!! This whole system is designed to make people give up. 😠😠ðŸ˜

•32 times just that ONE day! Probably called 100+ times total over two weeks. Complete joke of a system.

Have you tried Claimyr to get through to an EDD rep? I was in the exact same situation with my Money Network card taking forever, and I was going CRAZY trying to call. My roommate told me about Claimyr - it basically calls EDD for you and gets you in the queue, then calls you back when an agent is available. Totally worth it! I finally got to speak to someone who could tell me exactly what was going on with my card and when it was mailed. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km and their website is claimyr.com

•I've never heard of this service! Did they actually help resolve your card issue or just connect you to EDD? I'm desperate at this point so I'll try anything.

•They just connect you to EDD, but that's honestly the hardest part! Once I got through to a real EDD person, they were able to verify my card was actually sent to the wrong address (even though my EDD account had the correct one). They put in a request for a new card with expedited shipping. Got it 3 days later.

anyone know if you can pick up the card in person somewhere? waiting for mail is killing me

•No, unfortunately there's no in-person pickup option for Money Network cards. They can only be delivered by mail. If your card is significantly delayed, the best option is to call Money Network directly and request a replacement with expedited shipping.

Update on my situation: finally got through to Money Network and they said my card was returned as undeliverable even though my address is correct! They're sending a new one now. OP - definitely call them directly to check status.

•Thank you for the update! I finally called Money Network using the trick someone mentioned about selecting the lost/stolen option to reach a person faster. Turns out my card was sent out but they messed up my apartment number! They're sending a new one with expedited shipping (paid the $10 fee because I'm desperate at this point). Should have it in 3 business days. So relieved to finally know what happened!
