EDD switched to Money Network but my payment stuck in pending since March 15th - still no card?

I'm so confused right now! I certified for benefits two weeks ago (March 15th) and my payment has been stuck on 'pending' ever since. I know EDD stopped using Bank of America cards in February, but I haven't received my new Money Network card yet. When I check UI Online, it shows my payment is authorized but nothing has been deposited. Has anyone actually received their new Money Network card? How long did it take to arrive? I'm getting really worried because I've got rent due next week and I was counting on this payment. Should I try calling EDD about this or just keep waiting?

I finally got my Money Network card last week after waiting almost a month! The transition from BofA has been a disaster. My first payment after the switch also got stuck in pending for about 10 days before it finally showed up as paid. Once your payment switches from pending to paid in UI Online, it takes another 2-3 days to actually load onto the card. And then you have to activate it on their website and set up a PIN. The whole process is ridiculous.

Thank you!! At least that gives me some hope. Did you have to do anything special to get your payment unstuck from pending? I'm getting desperate here.

mine took 3 weeks to come in mail. but make sure ur address is correct in ur ui online account because they ship it to whatever is on file there, not what was with bofa

Omg I didn't even think of that! I moved in January and updated my address with EDD but maybe it didn't transfer over to the Money Network system? I'll double check right now.

The pending payment and the card delay are actually two separate issues. Your payment being stuck in pending means EDD hasn't approved the payment yet - this has nothing to do with Money Network. You need to contact EDD directly about the pending payment. As for the card, once your payment switches from pending to paid, it takes 7-10 business days for the first Money Network card to arrive if you've never had one before. If you already had a payment go through after the February transition and still don't have a card, you should call Money Network directly at 1-888-928-2929. Double-check your UI Online account to make sure your mailing address is current for both EDD communications and payment methods.

This is correct. I just went through the same thing! Pending payment was because EDD needed to verify my work search activities for that week (even though I'd been certifying the same way for months). Once they released the payment, my money network card came about a week later.

Trying to reach EDD to resolve pending payments is nearly impossible these days... took me DAYS of calling last month for a similar issue. I ended up using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through - they have this service that gets you connected to an EDD agent without the endless redial nightmare. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km When I finally got through, the rep told me my payment was pending because they needed to verify some information about my last employer. Took about 5 minutes to clear up once I actually talked to someone. My Money Network card arrived about 8 days after the payment switched to paid.

Claimyr is a SCAM! They charge you to do what you can do for FREE if you just keep calling! The EDD is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to because they WANT to deny us our BENEFITS!! I've been calling for TWO MONTHS trying to fix my claim and NOTHING!!! This whole system is CORRUPT!

Here's what you need to know about the Money Network transition: 1. Pending payments are handled by EDD, not Money Network. If your payment is stuck in pending for more than 3 business days, you need to contact EDD. 2. First-time Money Network cards are mailed 7-10 business days after your first payment is processed after the transition. 3. You can check if your payment has been issued to Money Network by looking at your UI Online payment history. If it shows "paid" but you don't have a card yet, the issue is with card delivery. 4. Money Network cards are mailed from their processing center in Indiana, so delivery can take longer than expected. 5. Once you receive your card, you must activate it at moneynetwork.com/edd or by calling the number on the card. If your payment is still pending, I recommend contacting EDD directly to find out why. Common reasons include identity verification issues, quarterly wage reviews, or work search activity verification.

This is incredibly helpful, thank you! My payment history still shows pending, not paid, so I guess I need to contact EDD first before worrying about the card. I had no idea the cards ship from Indiana - that explains the long delivery times.

anybody know if u can set up direct deposit with money network instead of using their card? the BofA card was bad enough but at least i could transfer to my bank account for free

Yes, Money Network does allow direct deposit transfers to your personal bank account. Once you activate your card and set up your online account, you can link your bank account and set up transfers. Unlike the BofA system, Money Network lets you set up automatic transfers so funds automatically move to your bank when they arrive. However, transfers can take 1-3 business days to complete.

Just following up on this thread - did your payment ever switch from pending to paid? And did you get your Money Network card yet? I'm curious because my roommate is going through the exact same issue right now.

UPDATE: I finally got through to EDD yesterday! My payment was stuck in pending because there was an eligibility interview scheduled that I didn't know about (they never notified me). The rep was able to push my payment through and it switched to paid last night. Now just waiting for the Money Network card to arrive. Thanks everyone for your help!
