EDD Money Network card still not arrived 2 weeks after benefits paid - who to contact?
So my unemployment claim was finally approved about 2 weeks ago (after a 6-week nightmare of pending status and an eligibility interview). EDD shows that my benefits were paid out on March 12th, but I still haven't received my Money Network debit card in the mail. My online account shows everything as 'paid' but I literally can't access any funds. I've checked my address is correct in the system. Is this normal? I'm starting to get really worried because my rent is due next week and my landlord isn't exactly the understanding type. Who am I supposed to contact about this - EDD or Bank of America or Money Network? Has anyone else had their card take this long? Any advice would be appreciated!

The card can take up to 10 business days to arrive once your first payment is processed. If it's been longer than that, you should definitely call Money Network directly at 1-866-692-9374. They can tell you if the card was actually mailed out. EDD won't be able to help with this - they just process the payments, they don't handle the cards at all.

•Thank you! It's been 14 calendar days so definitely over the 10 business day mark. I'll try calling Money Network tomorrow morning.

•3 weeks?! That's insane. Did you have to do anything special to finally get it or did it just randomly show up eventually?

You need to call Money Network at 1-866-692-9374. Don't waste time trying to contact EDD about this - they don't handle the card distribution and won't be able to help you. Money Network can confirm if your card was sent out and when. If it's been lost in the mail, they can expedite a new one to you (though they might charge a fee for that). Also, once you do get your card, I HIGHLY recommend setting up direct deposit through UI Online so you don't have to deal with the card for future payments. You can transfer money from the card to your bank account through the Money Network app or website too.

•Thank you for the detailed info! I'll definitely set up direct deposit once I can actually access my account. I tried calling the number but kept getting disconnected after waiting on hold forever. So frustrating.

•If you're having trouble getting through to Money Network or EDD, you might want to try Claimyr. It's a service that helps you get connected to EDD agents without the endless busy signals and disconnects. I used it last month when I couldn't get through about my certification issue and got connected in like 20 minutes instead of spending days trying. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!! Called Money Network and they said my card was sent out weeks ago but got returned to them because of a "delivery issue" even though my address was 100% correct!!! They made me verify all my info AGAIN and then sent a new one. Make sure you ask them to EXPEDITE it - they can do 3-5 business day shipping instead of the normal 7-10 days. And yes they charged me $10 for this "privilege" which is complete BS since it was their mistake!!!

•Omg that's crazy! Thanks for the tip about expediting it. At this point I'd gladly pay $10 just to get access to my money. How long did it take for the expedited card to arrive?

•Mine came in 4 days. And yeah the $10 sucks but when you need rent money you don't have much choice right? The system is designed to make everything as difficult as possible I swear.

just checking - are you sure your correct address is on file with EDD? I had a issue where my mail address was different from my residence address and that caused a huge delay with my card

•Yes, I double-checked both addresses in my UI Online account and they're definitely correct. I haven't moved or anything since filing my claim.

Update us on what happens when you call Money Network. If they confirm it was sent but you never received it, ask them about the status tracking. Sometimes they can see if it was returned to them. If you get nowhere with Money Network's regular customer service, ask to speak with a supervisor - they have more authority to help with unusual situations.

•I FINALLY got through to Money Network after trying for two days. Turns out they never even sent my card because there was some flag on my account requiring additional verification! The rep cleared it and is sending me a new card with expedited shipping. Should be here by next Wednesday. Thanks everyone for your help!

•Glad you got it sorted out! That's so frustrating they didn't notify you about needing additional verification. At least you'll have your money soon!

•TYPICAL EDD/Money Network nonsense! They never tell you when there's a problem until YOU contact THEM. So infuriating. At least you'll get your money soon!
