Need help getting EDD Money Network card - where to call? No card after 3 weeks

I got approved for unemployment benefits 3 weeks ago and still haven't received my EDD debit card in the mail. My claim shows payments were issued, but I can't access my money without the card! I checked my address is correct in UI Online. Is there a specific number I need to call to get the card sent out? I read something about Money Network being the card provider now instead of Bank of America? The EDD website is confusing me and I really need this money for rent next week. Anyone know the right contact for card issues? Thanks!!

You need to contact Money Network directly for card issues, not EDD. Their customer service number is 1-888-323-7735. They're available 24/7. When you call, have your EDD Customer Account Number ready (it's on your award letter). They can tell you if your card was already mailed and when, or send you a replacement if needed. If they say it was already sent, ask them to verify your address.

Thank you so much!! I didn't realize I needed to call Money Network directly. I've been looking all over UI Online for card info. Will call them right now!

same thing happend to me lol. took almost a month to get my card and i was FREAKING OUT. just wait a little longer it will come

0 coins

A month?! I can't wait that long! My rent is due next week and I'm completely broke. Did you end up calling anyone to speed it up?

0 coins

nah i just waited. but maybe try that number the other person posted if ur in a hurry

The Bank of America EDD cards were phased out last year, and Money Network is now handling all EDD debit cards. If you previously had a BofA EDD card, it won't work anymore - you NEED the new Money Network card. Important: If this is your first time on unemployment, your card is automatically mailed when your first payment is processed. But the system is SLOW. They claim 7-10 business days, but it's taking 3+ weeks for many people right now. If you need your money faster, I'd recommend setting up direct deposit instead of waiting for the card. Log into UI Online, go to "Payment Methods" and select "Change Payment Method" to switch to direct deposit. You'll need your bank routing and account numbers.

This is really helpful info, thank you! I didn't know I could switch to direct deposit instead. I'll try that if Money Network says the card will take much longer.

When I had this problem I tried calling EDD for THREE DAYS and could never get through!!! The phone lines are a JOKE. You call and it just says they're experiencing high call volume and HANGS UP ON YOU. How is anyone supposed to resolve issues???

I was in the same situation last month trying to get through to EDD about my missing card. What worked for me was using Claimyr - it's a service that basically calls EDD for you and gets you in the queue, then calls you when an agent is available. Saved me days of frustration. You can check it out at claimyr.com - they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/JmuwXR7HA10?si=TSwYbu_GOwYzt9km But honestly for card issues specifically, calling Money Network directly as mentioned above is probably faster since they handle the cards now, not EDD.

Everybody saying "just call Money Network" but good luck getting a human! I spent 45 minutes on hold last month for a replacement card. Here's what I learned: 1) Call early morning (like 8:01am) to avoid the longest hold times 2) When the automated system asks why you're calling, say "lost or stolen card" even if that's not exactly your issue - it routes you faster 3) Have your full SSN and address ready - they'll ask for verification 4) If they say your card was already mailed, ask for the exact date and tracking info 5) Standard delivery is 7-10 business days, but you can pay extra for expedited shipping (2-3 days) Hope this helps! The whole EDD/Money Network system is frustrating but eventually works.

These are fantastic tips, thank you! I'll definitely try calling first thing tomorrow morning. Good to know about the "lost or stolen card" option - I would have just selected general questions and probably waited forever.

my edd payments started going to the old bofa card at first but then they switched to money network. i never got a new card and had to request one. they dont automatically send them to everyone so check if ur payments r actually processed yet on ui online

0 coins

I checked UI Online and it shows my payments as "Paid" for the last 3 weeks. That's why I'm confused about where my money is and why I don't have a card yet.

0 coins

If UI Online shows "Paid" status but you don't have your card yet, Money Network has likely already processed and mailed your card. First-time cards are automatically sent when the first payment is issued. However, with current delays, it could take 3-4 weeks to arrive. Definitely call the Money Network number provided above to check on status.

I went through this exact same situation last month! Here's what worked for me: First, call Money Network at 1-888-323-7735 (as others mentioned) but try calling around 7:30am - they open at 8am EST but sometimes pick up a few minutes early and you'll avoid the rush. If they confirm your card was mailed but you still don't have it after 3+ weeks, ask them to put a "stop payment" on the original card and expedite a replacement. There's usually a $15 fee for expedited shipping but it's worth it when you're desperate. ALSO - and this is important - if you're renting and your landlord accepts online payments, you might be able to set up direct deposit to your bank account faster than waiting for the card. It takes 1-2 business days to process the change in UI Online, then your next payment goes directly to your bank. I ended up doing both - got the replacement card expedited AND switched to direct deposit as backup. The direct deposit hit my account before the replacement card even arrived! Don't panic, your money is safe and you WILL get it. The system is just painfully slow right now.

This is exactly what I needed to hear! Thank you for sharing your experience and the specific timing tips. I'm definitely going to try calling at 7:30am tomorrow and ask about the stop payment option if needed. The direct deposit backup plan is brilliant - I didn't even think about doing both at the same time. Really appreciate you taking the time to write out all these details!

I had the same issue a few months ago and it was so stressful! Here's what I wish someone had told me: The Money Network number (1-888-323-7735) is definitely your best bet, but if you can't get through or they say the card will take too long, there's another option: some people have had success going to a Money Network partner location like certain grocery stores or check-cashing places. They can sometimes help you access your funds or get a temporary card. Also, when you do call Money Network, ask specifically if your address matches EXACTLY what EDD has on file. Sometimes there are tiny differences (like "Street" vs "St" or missing apartment numbers) that cause cards to get returned to sender. One more tip: if you're really desperate for the money, you might be able to get emergency assistance from local organizations while waiting for your card. Many food banks and utility assistance programs understand EDD delays right now. Hang in there - I know it's incredibly frustrating when you need that money for basic expenses like rent!

0 coins

Thank you so much for mentioning the address verification - that's something I hadn't thought of! I assumed since my address was correct in UI Online that it would automatically match, but you're right that there could be small formatting differences. I'll definitely ask Money Network to confirm the exact address they have on file when I call tomorrow. The emergency assistance tip is also really helpful to know about as a backup option. It's reassuring to hear from people who've been through this same stressful situation and made it through!

Just wanted to add that if you're still having trouble getting through to Money Network or need your money urgently, you can also try visiting a local EDD office if there's one near you. I know most services are online now, but some offices can help verify your card status and contact Money Network on your behalf. Also, make sure to check your UI Online account under "Payment Activity" - it should show not just that payments were issued, but also which payment method they were sent to (debit card vs direct deposit). If it shows debit card but you never received one, that's definitely something Money Network needs to resolve. One last thing - if you end up switching to direct deposit like others suggested, remember that it only affects FUTURE payments. Any money that was already sent to the debit card will stay there until you get the card or call Money Network to transfer it. Hope you get this sorted out soon! The first few weeks are always the most stressful when dealing with EDD.

0 coins

This is really helpful advice, especially about checking the Payment Activity section! I just logged in and confirmed it does show "debit card" as the payment method for all three of my payments, so that confirms Money Network should have my card. I didn't know EDD offices could help contact Money Network on your behalf - there's actually one about 20 minutes from me so that might be worth trying if I can't get through by phone. Thanks for clarifying that past payments stay with the card even if I switch to direct deposit - I was wondering about that! Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here, it's making me feel much less panicked about the whole situation.

I went through this exact same nightmare in January! What saved me was calling Money Network early in the morning (around 7:45am) and being very specific about what I needed. When you call, don't just say you're missing your card - tell them "I need to verify if my EDD debit card was mailed and to what address, and if not received within the expected timeframe, I need expedited replacement." The key things that helped me: - Asked them to read back the EXACT address they have (including apartment number, spelling, everything) - Got the tracking number for when my card was supposedly mailed - When they couldn't provide tracking (which happened to me), I knew the card was never actually sent Turns out there was an address mismatch between EDD and Money Network systems - EDD had my full address but Money Network only had the street address without my apartment number. Once we fixed that, they expedited a new card and I had it in 2 business days. Also, if you're really stuck and need money NOW, some credit unions offer emergency loans if you can show proof of pending unemployment benefits. It's not ideal but beats missing rent! Don't give up - your money IS there and you WILL get access to it. The system is just incredibly frustrating to navigate.

This is incredibly detailed and helpful, thank you! The apartment number issue makes so much sense - I live in a complex and that could definitely be the problem. I'm going to call tomorrow morning at 7:45 like you suggested and ask them to read back my exact address. Getting that tracking number is a great idea too since it will tell me if the card was actually sent or not. I really appreciate you sharing the specific wording to use when calling - I probably would have just said "where's my card" and gotten nowhere. The credit union emergency loan tip is also good to know as a last resort. It's so reassuring to hear from someone who had the exact same problem and got it resolved quickly once the real issue was identified!

I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - been waiting 2.5 weeks for my Money Network card and getting really anxious about it. Reading through everyone's experiences here is actually really reassuring that this is a common problem with solutions. Quick question for those who successfully got through to Money Network - when you called that 1-888-323-7735 number, did you have to provide your EDD Customer Account Number, or were they able to look you up with just SSN and personal info? I'm trying to gather everything I need before calling tomorrow morning. Also, for anyone who switched to direct deposit - how long did it actually take for the change to go into effect? The UI Online system says 1-2 business days but I'm wondering if that's accurate given how slow everything else has been. Thanks to everyone sharing their stories and tips - this thread is way more helpful than anything on the official EDD website!

0 coins

I can help answer your questions! When I called Money Network, they were able to look me up with just my SSN and full name - I didn't need my EDD Customer Account Number, though having it ready doesn't hurt. They'll also ask for your full address and date of birth for verification. As for direct deposit, I switched mine about 6 weeks ago and it took exactly 2 business days for the change to show as "active" in UI Online. My next payment after that went straight to my bank account with no issues. The timing was actually pretty accurate unlike most other EDD processes! Definitely call early morning like others suggested - I got through around 8:15am on my second try. Good luck! You're right that this thread has way better info than the official sites. Hope you get your card situation resolved quickly!

I just wanted to share what worked for me when I had this exact same issue a couple months ago - hopefully it helps someone else avoid the stress I went through! After reading horror stories online about people waiting months, I was panicking because I also needed the money for rent. Here's my step-by-step approach that got results: **Day 1:** Called Money Network at 1-888-323-7735 at exactly 8:00am, got through after 20 minutes on hold. They confirmed my card was "in production" but couldn't give me a timeline. **Day 3:** Called again, this time asking specifically for tracking info. They admitted the card hadn't actually been mailed yet due to "processing delays." **Day 4:** Requested expedited shipping ($15 fee) and simultaneously switched to direct deposit in UI Online as a backup plan. **Day 6:** Expedited card arrived! Direct deposit change also went into effect, so my next payment went straight to my bank. The key was being persistent but polite, asking for specific information (not just "where's my card?"), and having a backup plan. Also, calling right at 8am made a huge difference in wait times. For anyone still waiting - your money IS safe in the system. It's just a matter of getting the right person at Money Network to actually help you track down what happened to your card. Don't be afraid to call multiple times if the first person can't give you clear answers!

0 coins

This is such a comprehensive breakdown - thank you for sharing your exact timeline and approach! I love that you had the foresight to set up direct deposit as a backup while pursuing the expedited card. That's really smart planning. The detail about asking for tracking info to confirm if the card was actually mailed is so important - it sounds like many cards get stuck in "processing" without anyone actually sending them out. I'm definitely going to use your approach of being specific with my questions rather than just asking generally about my missing card. It's also encouraging to hear that the expedited shipping actually worked and arrived when promised. Really appreciate you taking the time to write out such a detailed success story!

I'm so glad I found this thread! I'm in week 4 of waiting for my Money Network card and was starting to panic. Reading everyone's experiences here has been incredibly helpful and reassuring that I'm not alone in this situation. A few things I wanted to add based on what I've learned from calling around: 1) If you have a **Wells Fargo, Chase, or Bank of America account**, you can sometimes get faster help by going into a branch with your EDD award letter. Some branch managers have direct contacts at EDD/Money Network for card issues (though this varies by location). 2) For anyone considering the direct deposit switch - make sure your bank account has been open for at least 90 days. I tried switching to a newer account and it got rejected, had to use my older checking account instead. 3) One thing that worked for a friend was **emailing Money Network customer service** in addition to calling. The email is slow (3-5 business days for response) but they sometimes provide more detailed tracking info than phone reps. You can reach them through their website contact form. 4) If you're really desperate and have a friend/family member with a Money Network card from their own EDD claim, they might be able to help you figure out if there are any **Money Network ATM locations** near you where you could potentially get assistance once you do get your card. Thanks to everyone who shared their success stories and specific tips - especially the early morning calling strategy. Going to try the 7:45am approach tomorrow! 🤞

This is such valuable additional information, thank you! I had no idea about the bank branch option - I actually have a Chase account so I might try visiting a branch if the phone calls don't work out. The 90-day account requirement for direct deposit is really important to know too, since I was considering opening a new account just for EDD payments. I'm definitely going to try the email contact form as backup while pursuing the phone route - even if it's slower, having that paper trail could be helpful. Really appreciate you mentioning the Money Network ATM locations too, that's something I wouldn't have thought to ask about. This whole thread has been like a masterclass in dealing with EDD card issues! Going to bookmark this for reference. Hope your 7:45am call strategy works out tomorrow! 🙏

I went through this same frustrating experience last year and want to share what finally worked for me after weeks of stress! **The game-changer:** When I called Money Network at 1-888-323-7735, I asked to speak with a "card fulfillment specialist" specifically, not just general customer service. Regular reps can only see basic info, but specialists can actually track your card through their internal system and identify exactly where it got stuck. **What I learned:** My card had been sitting in "address verification pending" status for 3 weeks because EDD's system had my address formatted as "123 Main Street Apt 2B" but Money Network's system expected "123 Main Street #2B". This tiny formatting difference caused my card to never actually get printed/mailed, even though both systems showed it as "processed." **The fix:** The specialist corrected the address format in their system and expedited a new card at no charge (since the delay was their error). I had it in 2 business days. **Pro tip:** When you call, say you need to "escalate a card fulfillment issue with address verification" - this gets you to the right department faster than going through the general menu. Also, take screenshots of your UI Online payment history showing "Paid" status - the specialist can use this to expedite your case since it proves EDD already sent the money. Don't give up! Your money is definitely there, it's just trapped in a system glitch that the right person can fix in minutes.

0 coins

This is incredibly helpful - thank you for sharing the "card fulfillment specialist" tip! I never would have known to ask for that specific department. The address formatting issue you described makes perfect sense and could definitely be what's happening with my situation too. I live in an apartment complex and I bet there's some formatting mismatch between EDD and Money Network systems. I'm definitely going to try your exact wording when I call tomorrow morning: "escalate a card fulfillment issue with address verification." Taking screenshots of my UI Online payment history is also a great idea for proof. It's so frustrating that these tiny technical glitches can hold up people's rent money for weeks, but at least now I know there are specialists who can actually fix it quickly once you reach the right person. Really appreciate you sharing such specific and actionable advice!

I'm going through this exact same situation right now - it's been 3.5 weeks since my first payment was issued and still no Money Network card! Reading through all these responses has been incredibly helpful and honestly a huge relief to know this is such a common problem with real solutions. I wanted to add one more tip I discovered: if you have the **myEDD mobile app**, check the "Inbox" section for any messages about your card. I found a message there saying my card was "temporarily delayed due to address verification" that I never saw on the regular UI Online website. It wasn't super helpful on its own, but at least confirmed something was wrong with the process. Also, for anyone who's successfully gotten through to Money Network - did they give you a **case/reference number** when you called? I'm wondering if having a reference number helps if you need to call back multiple times. I'm definitely going to try the 7:45am calling strategy and ask specifically for a "card fulfillment specialist" like @Nia Thompson suggested. The address formatting issue she described sounds exactly like what could be happening with my apartment address. Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences - this thread has been way more helpful than hours of searching the EDD website! Will update with how my call goes tomorrow morning. 🤞

0 coins

Great point about checking the myEDD mobile app inbox! I didn't even know that existed and probably would have missed important messages like that. Getting a reference number is definitely smart too - I've learned from dealing with other customer service issues that having a case number makes follow-up calls so much easier. You can reference your previous conversation instead of starting from scratch each time. Really hoping the card fulfillment specialist route works for you tomorrow! Please do update us on how it goes - I'm sure there are others following this thread who could benefit from hearing about your experience. Good luck with the 7:45am call! 🤞

I went through this exact same nightmare back in February and totally understand your panic about rent! Here's what finally worked for me after 4 weeks of stress: **Call Money Network at 1-888-323-7735 at exactly 7:30am** (they sometimes answer a few minutes before their official 8am start time). When you get through, immediately ask for a "card fulfillment specialist" - don't waste time with general customer service who can only see basic info. **Key things to ask the specialist:** 1. Read back my EXACT address including formatting (apartment #, street vs st, etc.) 2. Confirm if my card was actually mailed or still in processing 3. If mailed, provide tracking number 4. If not mailed, expedite a new card due to the delay My issue was that EDD had "Apt 5A" but Money Network expected "#5A" - this tiny difference kept my card in limbo for a month! Once the specialist fixed the formatting, I had my expedited card in 48 hours. **Backup plan:** While waiting, immediately switch to direct deposit in UI Online under "Payment Methods." It takes 2 business days to activate and your future payments will go straight to your bank. Don't panic - your money IS safe and you WILL get it! The system is just painfully slow but the right specialist can fix it in minutes. Take screenshots of your "Paid" status in UI Online as proof when you call. You've got this! 💪

0 coins

This is exactly the kind of detailed, actionable advice I was hoping to find! The apartment formatting issue you described (Apt vs #) is so frustrating but makes perfect sense - these systems are probably really picky about exact formatting matches. I'm definitely going to try your 7:30am strategy tomorrow and ask specifically for a card fulfillment specialist right away. Having those specific questions ready is super helpful too, especially asking for the tracking number if they claim it was mailed. I'm also going to start the direct deposit switch process today as backup like you suggested. It's such a relief to hear from someone who had the exact same problem and got it resolved quickly once they reached the right person. Really appreciate you sharing the specific timing and approach that worked! 🙏

I just went through this exact same situation a few weeks ago and wanted to share what worked for me! The frustration is SO real when you need that money for rent. Here's my step-by-step approach that got results: **Step 1:** Called Money Network at 1-888-323-7735 at 7:45am sharp (before the rush hits) **Step 2:** When the automated system asks why you're calling, I said "lost or stolen card" - this routes you faster to a human than "general questions" **Step 3:** Once connected, I immediately asked to speak with a "card fulfillment specialist" rather than staying with general customer service **Step 4:** Had them verify my EXACT address formatting - turns out EDD had "Unit 12" but Money Network expected "#12" which caused a 3-week delay! **The specialist was able to:** - Fix the address formatting issue instantly - Expedite a replacement card at no charge (since it was their system error) - Give me a tracking number for the new card I had my card in 2 business days after that call! **Pro tip:** While you're dealing with this, also switch to direct deposit in UI Online as backup. It only affects future payments, but gives you peace of mind. Your money is definitely safe - it's just trapped by a silly formatting glitch that the right person can fix in minutes. Don't give up! The early morning calling strategy really makes all the difference. 🙌
