PFL claim stuck - put wrong last work date. Help!
I filed for PFL about two weeks ago and haven't heard anything back. I'm worried because I think I messed up the dates on my application. I put my last day of work as the same day my claim should start. Has anyone else done this? Is this going to cause problems with my claim? I've been trying to call them but can't get through. Any advice on what I should do?

I found a way to solve PFL application date error issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAmSb3jA_PE

Ugh, I feel your pain. The PFL system is such a mess rn. I made a similar mistake on my application and it took FOREVER to get it sorted out. My advice? Keep calling. It sucks, but its the only way to get it fixed.

•Agreed. I had to call like 50 times before I got through. It's ridiculous 🙄

•Have you tried calling right when they open? I heard thats the best time to get through

•Yeah, I've tried that. Still no luck. It's like trying to win the lottery or something 😫

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it actually does. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. Got through in about an hour.

•$20 just to talk to someone? That's highway robbery! 😡

Here's what you need to do: 1. Don't panic. Mistakes happen and they can be fixed. 2. Document everything. Write down the dates you originally put and what they should be. 3. Keep trying to call. Early morning is usually best. 4. If you can't get through by phone, try sending a message through your online account. 5. Be prepared to provide proof of your correct last day of work (like a pay stub). 6. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes help push things through. Remember, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Don't give up!

•This is solid advice. I'd add: keep a log of all your call attempts (date, time, result). It can help if you need to escalate later.

I had the exact same problem! It took about a month, but they eventually sorted it out. Just make sure you keep on top of it and don't let them forget about your claim.

•A month? 😱 I hope mine doesn't take that long. Did you have to do anything special to get it fixed?

•Honestly, I just kept calling and bugging them. Eventually I got through to someone who actually knew what they were doing and fixed it for me.

Have you tried faxing them? I know it sounds archaic, but sometimes it works when nothing else does. 📠

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. It's not just you - thousands of people are struggling with this bureaucratic nightmare. We should be writing to our representatives about this!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other departments. Sometimes they can transfer you internally and it's easier to get through that way.

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Made a similar date mistake on my PFL application about 3 weeks ago. What I've learned so far: don't stress too much about it - these kinds of errors are apparently pretty common and fixable. I finally got through to someone last week (took literally 47 attempts over 3 days) and they said they see this all the time. They can correct it on their end, but you do need to speak to an actual person. The online messaging system is basically useless for this kind of issue. Keep trying to call, especially right at 8am when they open. Also, have your employment verification documents ready when you do get through - they'll likely ask for proof of your actual last work date. Good luck! 🍀
