PFL claim date issues - anyone else struggling?

Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my PFL claim. I think there might be an issue with the dates, but I'm not really sure what's going on. Has anyone else run into problems with their claim dates? Any advice on how to figure out what's wrong or how to fix it?

Ugh, PFL claims can be such a headache! šŸ¤• I had a similar issue last year. Have you double-checked the dates you put on your application? Sometimes even a small mistake can cause big problems.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely go back and look at my application again. Do you remember how long it took to get your issue resolved?

It took about 3 weeks for me, but I've heard it can vary. Just keep calling and checking your online account. Good luck!

3 weeks? You got lucky! I've been waiting for 2 months now 😭

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to talk to someone...

I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imho

How long did you have to wait after using the service?

Only about 30 minutes! Way better than the hours I spent trying to get through on my own

Have you tried logging into your account online? Sometimes they post updates or requests for additional info there. Might give you a clue about whats going on with your claim dates.

Oof, claim date issues are the WORST 🤮 Make sure you have all your documentation in order - pay stubs, doctors notes, everything. Sometimes they deny claims if the dates dont match up perfectly with your supporting docs.

That's a good point! I'll gather everything and double-check. Thanks for the advice!

Listen up, because I've been through this rodeo before. Here's what you need to do: • First, review your claim dates carefully. Make sure they match your last day worked and first day of leave. • Check if your employer reported your wages correctly. Sometimes this can mess things up. • Look at any doctor's certification you submitted. The dates there should match your claim. • If you can't find the issue, call PFL directly. Be prepared to wait on hold for a while. • Keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke to. • If calling doesn't work, try reaching out via their online portal or even snail mail. • Don't give up! Sometimes it takes persistence to get these issues resolved. Remember, the system is complicated and mistakes happen. Stay calm and keep pushing for answers. Good luck!

Great advice! I'd add: take screenshots of everything you submit online. Saved my butt when they claimed they never got my docs.

have u tried turning it off and on again? 🤣 jk jk but for real, sometimes the online system glitches. Maybe try clearing your cache or using a different browser?

I swear, dealing with PFL is like trying to nail jello to a wall šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same sinking boat.

LOL ain't that the truth. Sometimes I think they make it complicated on purpose šŸ¤”

Not to be that guy, but have you considered getting a lawyer? If its a big claim and they're jerking you around, it might be worth it.

I hope it doesn't come to that, but I'll keep it in mind if things don't get resolved. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just went through something similar last month! One thing that helped me was calling first thing in the morning (like 8 AM sharp) - seemed to have better luck getting through. Also, if you filed recently, it might be related to that system upgrade issue @Alana Willis mentioned. I'd definitely check your online account daily for any updates or document requests. Sometimes they'll ask for additional info without sending you a notification. Keep all your paperwork handy too - birth certificates, medical records, employment verification, etc. The whole process is frustrating but you'll get through it! šŸ’Ŗ
