Need help correcting dates on CA PFL claim - what to prepare?
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my PFL claim in California. I need to get the dates corrected but I'm not sure how to go about it. Has anyone gone through this process before? What should I prepare before calling them? Any tips or advice would be really appreciated!

I've been through this before. Here's what you need to do: 1. Gather all your documents that show the correct start and end dates 2. Write down exactly why these dates need to be changed 3. When you call, explain clearly what needs correcting and why 4. Offer to send any supporting documents they might need 5. After the call, send a follow-up email summarizing what was discussed 6. Set reminders to check on your claim status Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

•This is great advice! I wish I had known all this when I was dealing with my claim. Would've saved me so much time and stress 😩

•Quick question - how long did it take for your corrections to be processed after you called?

•It took about 2 weeks for mine, but I've heard it can vary. Some people get lucky and it's done in a few days, others wait a month or more. 🤷♂️

•@Evelyn Rivera this is super helpful! One more question - do you know if they accept scanned documents via email or do they need physical copies mailed in? Trying to figure out the fastest way to get my supporting docs to them.

•Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? Sometimes they can help push things along.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

•20 bucks? Idk man, seems kinda steep just to talk to someone...

•I get the skepticism, but after spending hours trying to get through, it was worth every penny to me. Saved me a ton of time and frustration.

•How long did you have to wait once the call was transferred to you?

•Only about a minute or two. Way better than the hours I spent before!

Pro tip: keep a detailed log of all your calls, including date, time, and who you spoke with. It'll help if you need to escalate your case later.

Anyone else feel like we need a complete overhaul of the entire PFL system? 🤔 It's 2023, why is this still so complicated?

Hey OP, just a heads up - there was a recent change in how they process date corrections. Make sure you mention 'Form DE 2501F' when you call. It's the new form for date adjustments.

•Where did you hear about this new form? I can't find any info on the EDD website.

•My cousin works for the EDD. She told me about it last week. Might not be on the website yet, but the phone agents should know about it.
