EDD claim dates wrong - how to fix?
Hey everyone, I'm having an issue with my unemployment claim. The dates on my claim are wrong and I'm not sure how to fix it. Has anyone else dealt with this before? Any advice on how to get it corrected?

Ugh, I've been there. The EDD system is such a mess. Have you tried calling them? It's a pain, but sometimes that's the only way to get things fixed.

•I've been trying to call for days but can't get through. It's so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 minutes on hold that way.

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Does it really work?

•Yeah, it actually does. I was skeptical at first too, but I was desperate. Got through in about 2 hours.

•$20 just to make a phone call? That's ridiculous. The system is so broken 🤮

•I get it, but for me it was worth it. Spent way more than $20 worth of time trying to call myself.

Have you checked your UI Online account? Sometimes you can submit a request to fix dates there without calling.

Wrong dates can mess up your whole claim. Here's what I'd recommend: 1. Double-check all the info on your UI Online account 2. If you can't fix it there, you NEED to call EDD 3. Be prepared with all your documents showing the correct dates 4. If the rep says they can't help, ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist 5. Keep a record of all your calls and who you spoke to It's a pain, but don't give up. Wrong dates can affect your benefits big time.

I'm in the same boat. Been trying to fix my dates for 3 weeks now. This whole system is a joke.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help push things through with EDD.

•I hadn't thought of that. How do I find my assembly member?

•Just google '[your city] assembly member'. They usually have a 'contact us' form for constituents needing help with state agencies.

I went through this exact same issue last month! What worked for me was logging into UI Online and looking for the "Report Issue" or "Contact EDD" section. There's usually a form where you can explain the date discrepancy and attach supporting documents like your separation notice or pay stubs. It took about 10 business days, but they eventually corrected my dates without me having to call. Worth trying before you spend hours on hold!

•This is super helpful! I didn't know there was a "Report Issue" section in UI Online. Definitely going to try this first before dealing with the phone nightmare. Thanks for sharing your experience - 10 business days sounds way better than weeks of calling!

•@Sayid Hassan This is exactly what I needed to hear! I ve'been dreading calling EDD but didn t'realize there was an online option. Going to try the Report Issue form today. Did you have to upload specific documents or just explain the situation?

•@Sayid Hassan This is really encouraging to hear! I ve'been putting off dealing with this because calling EDD seems like such a nightmare. For the documents, did you just upload whatever you had showing the correct dates? I have my last paystub and termination letter - would those work?

•@Sayid Hassan This gives me hope! I ve'been avoiding the phone route because of all the horror stories. Quick question - when you submitted through the Report "Issue form," did you get any kind of confirmation that they received it? I m'worried about submitting and then having it disappear into the void. Also, did they contact you when they fixed it or did you just notice the dates were corrected when you logged in?

•@Sayid Hassan This is such a relief to hear! I was getting overwhelmed by all the phone horror stories. Quick question - when you used the Report "Issue form," did you have to provide any specific reference numbers from your claim, or was it pretty straightforward to just describe the date problem? I want to make sure I include everything they need the first time so I don t'have to resubmit.

•@Sayid Hassan Thank you for sharing this! I had no idea there was an online form option. I ve'been putting off dealing with my date issue because I kept hearing nightmare stories about trying to call EDD. This sounds like a much better first step. Did you need to provide any specific claim numbers or reference information when filling out the form, or was it pretty straightforward to just describe what was wrong with the dates?
