EDD claim: Wrong end date & only paid for 4 days - Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my unemployment claim. I accidentally put the wrong end date when I filed, and now I need to change it. Also, the payment I received only covers 4 days within the period, which seems off. Has anyone dealt with something similar? Any advice on how to handle this when I talk to them?

Ugh, been there done that. The system is so confusing! When you call, make sure you have all your correct dates ready. Be super clear about the mistake and ask them to walk you through the correction process. As for the payment, definitely ask for a breakdown of how they calculated it. Sometimes they mess up the math 🙄

•Yeah good advice. I had to call like 5 times before I got someone who actually knew what they were doing. Its like playing the lottery 🎰

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

•Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

•How long did you have to wait for the call back?

•It took about 2 hours for me, but beats spending all day hitting redial 😅

Listen up, here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Write down the correct end date and why it needs to be changed. 2. Calculate the exact number of days you should be paid for. 3. When you call, ask to speak with a tier 2 specialist. They have more authority to make changes. 4. Be polite but firm. Don't hang up until you have a clear resolution. 5. Get a confirmation number or email for any changes made. 6. Follow up in writing through your online account or by mail. Remember, persistence is key. Don't let them brush you off. Good luck!

•Tier 2 specialist is the way to go. Regular agents often don't know jack

Quick question - did you certify for those 4 days separately? Sometimes partial weeks can mess up the system.

•No, I certified for the whole period. That's why I'm so confused about the 4-day payment 🤔

•Def sounds like a glitch then. Make sure to bring that up when you call!

Pro tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes you can catch em off guard lol

Been in a similar situation before! The wrong end date thing is actually pretty common - when you get through to someone, just explain it was an input error and have your correct dates ready. For the 4-day payment issue, that could be because they're only counting weekdays or there might be a waiting period applied. Ask them to show you exactly how they calculated it and if there are any penalties or waiting periods affecting your payment. Also, don't be afraid to ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help - sometimes you need someone with more system access to fix date issues.
