PFL claim filed 2 months ago - no response or payment from EDD. What to do?
I filed for paid family leave 2 months ago and still haven't heard anything back or received any payments. I've been calling every day but can't get through to anyone. Has anyone else experienced this? What should I do?

Ugh, I'm in the same boat. Filed 3 months ago and radio silence. The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•3 months?! That's insane. Have you tried reaching out to your local representative?

•Nah, didn't even think of that. Good idea tho, might give it a shot. Thx!

•Local reps are useless imo. They just give you the same runaround as EDD 🙄

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. Used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when an agent picks up. Costs $20 but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds sketchy. How do you know it's legit?

•I was skeptical too, but I was desperate. It actually worked tho. Got through in like an hour instead of days of trying

•$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so messed up 😤

•Yeah, it sucks we have to pay, but for me it was worth it to finally get answers

Here's what worked for me: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and attempts to contact them. 2. Send a written request via certified mail asking for an update on your claim. 3. Contact your state representative and senator. They often have staff dedicated to helping with these issues. 4. File a complaint with the Department of Labor if it's been more than 30 days. 5. Consider reaching out to local media if all else fails. Sometimes public pressure can help. Don't give up! It's frustrating, but persistence usually pays off eventually.

•Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely start with the certified mail and contacting my rep. Really appreciate it 🙏

This is why we need to overhaul the entire system. It's not equipped to handle the volume of claims. We should be pushing for reform!

•Preach! 🙌 But good luck getting politicians to care about fixing it

•True, but if enough of us make noise, maybe we can force some change. Gotta start somewhere!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way.

Anyone else notice that the website is always "under maintenance" when you try to check your claim status? 🙄

I feel for you, OP. Went through this last year and it was a nightmare. Hang in there!

Have you checked if theres any missing info they need? Sometimes they dont tell you and just let the claim sit there 🤦♀️

•How would I check that? The online portal doesn't show anything

•You pretty much have to get someone on the phone 😕 That's how I found out they were missing a form from my doctor

Plot twist: what if the EDD is actually run by clowns? 🤡 Would explain a lot tbh
