EDD account locked - can't apply for PFL! Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle. I need to apply for paid family leave ASAP, but my EDD account is locked. The worst part? I think it's because I used a different email than when I originally signed up. Has anyone dealt with this before? Any advice on how to get this sorted quickly? I'm getting desperate here.

Ugh, that sucks! The EDD system is such a nightmare sometimes. Have you tried calling their support line? It might take forever, but it's probably your best bet to get it unlocked.

•Yeah, I've been trying to call all morning. It's either busy or I get disconnected after waiting for hours. 😫 This is so frustrating!

•Pro tip: call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and everything. Sometimes you can get through faster that way.

•Thanks for the tip! I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed 🤞

I had a similar issue last year. It took me weeks to get it resolved, but here's what worked for me: 1. Keep calling. I know it sucks, but persistence is key. 2. Try using the 'Contact Us' form on the EDD website. Sometimes they respond faster that way. 3. If all else fails, reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite EDD issues. Hang in there, OP! It's a frustrating process, but you'll get through it.

•Wow, thank you so much for the detailed advice! I'll definitely try the Contact Us form. And I never thought about contacting my assembly member - that's a great idea if things don't work out. Really appreciate it! 💯

have you tried making a new account with your original email? might be easier than dealing with customer service tbh

•I thought about that, but I'm worried it might cause more problems. Like, what if they think I'm trying to commit fraud or something? 😰

•Nah, don't do that. It'll just complicate things more. Stick with trying to unlock your original account.

Hey, I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Anyone else tried it?

•Yeah, it's totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

Have you checked if there are any in-person EDD offices near you? Sometimes face-to-face interactions can solve these issues faster than phone calls or emails.

•That's a great idea! I'll look into it. Hopefully there's one nearby. Thanks!

Oof, been there done that. The EDD system is held together with duct tape and prayers I swear. Hang in there OP, and don't give up. It's a pain, but keep at it and you'll get through eventually.

Quick question - when you say you used a different email, did you actually create a whole new account? Or just try to log in with a different email? Cuz if it's the latter, you might just need to remember your original email.

•Oh man, now you've got me thinking. I'm pretty sure I used a different email to create a new account, but maybe I'm misremembering? I'll have to double check. Thanks for bringing that up!

This might sound weird, but have you tried reaching out to EDD on social media? Sometimes companies are more responsive there because it's public. Worth a shot if nothing else is working.
