EDD login issues - expired license & forgotten password for Paid Family Leave application. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with my Paid Family Leave application. My driver's license is expired, but I have my social security card and birth certificate. I tried to log in to my EDD account, but I can't remember my password. I think I used a different email back in 2020 when I last filed. Any advice on how to reset my password or get help with my application?

Ugh, the EDD system is such a pain! π€¦ββοΈ I had a similar issue last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Call the EDD directly (good luck getting through lol) 2. Explain you need to reset your password 3. They'll ask for your SSN and other info to verify your identity 4. They can help you update your email and reset your password Be prepared to wait on hold for hours tho. The system is a mess.

β’Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through in like 20 minutes last week!

I found a way to get someone on the phone fast. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

β’Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

β’Yep, totally legit! I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo

β’How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

β’It took about 2 hours for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music the whole time. They just called me when an agent was ready.

Have you tried using the 'Forgot Password' option on the EDD website? Sometimes that works if you remember the security questions.

I work at the EDD (not official advice). Here's what you should do: 1. Try the online password reset first. If that doesn't work: 2. Call our main line at 1-800-300-5616 3. Have your SSN, birth date, and any old claim numbers ready 4. We can verify your identity and help reset your account 5. For the expired license, bring your birth certificate and SS card when you file in person If you're having trouble getting through on the phone, try calling right at 8 AM when we open. The wait is usually shorter then. Hope this helps!

Quick question - has anyone had luck using their passport instead of a driver's license for ID? My license is expired too but my passport is still valid.

β’Yep, passport works! I used mine last year when I applied for disability. As long as it's not expired, you're good to go.

Has anyone tried contacting their state representative for help? I've heard they can sometimes intervene if you're having issues with state agencies.

β’This! π I did this last year and it actually worked. My rep's office contacted EDD and suddenly my issue was resolved in like 2 days.

β’How do you even find out who your state rep is? π€

β’Just Google '[your state] find my representative' - there's usually a website where you can enter your address and it'll tell you who represents you.
