EDD PFL payment 20+ days late, can't reach anyone. Help!
Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a pickle with my paid family leave payments. The last one I got was over 20 days ago, and I got this letter saying I should contact the office if that happens. Anyone else dealing with this? What should I do if I can't get through to them today?

Ugh, I feel ya. The EDD is such a mess rn. I've been waiting on my disability payments for like a month now. Have you tried calling them? It's a total nightmare, but sometimes you just gotta keep trying 🤷♂️

•Calling is useless, I swear. I spent 3 days straight trying to get through. It's like they don't want us to reach them 🙄

•Pro tip: call right when they open. I got through after only 30 mins on hold that way!

I actually found a way to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•20 bucks? Thats kinda steep for just a phone call...

•I get the skepticism, but it seriously saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo. They even refund you if it doesn't work.

•How long did it take to get through using this?

•It took about an hour and a half for me, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music the whole time. Just got a call when an agent was ready.

Here's what you need to do: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of when you last received payment, when you got the letter, and all your attempts to contact them. 2. Try calling first thing Monday morning. Be persistent. 3. If you can't get through by phone, send a message through your online account. Sometimes they respond faster that way. 4. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They often have contacts at EDD and can help push things along. 5. Check if there are any forms you need to submit. Sometimes payments get held up because they're waiting on additional info. 6. If all else fails, file a complaint with the EDD. It might take time, but it creates a paper trail. Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but keep at it. You'll get your money eventually.

I'm tellin ya, the whole system is rigged against us. They make it impossible to get help on purpose. It's all a big scam to keep our money 🤬

Have you tried reaching out on social media? Sometimes tweeting at them or messaging on FB can get a response.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue and it turned out they needed some additional medical info from my doctor. Might be worth checking if there's any paperwork they're waiting on?
