Got through to EDD but agent couldn't access claim info - anyone else?

I finally got through to someone on the phone about my claim, but it turns out they were just from a call center and couldn't actually access any of my information. They couldn't answer any of my questions! Has anyone else had this problem? I'm so frustrated - I've been trying to get an update on my claim status for weeks.

Ugh, that's the worst! I had the same thing happen to me last month. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to get any real help. 🤬

I swear they do it on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. It's a broken system.

Guys, lets not assume malice. The system is just overloaded and underfunded. Still sucks tho 😕

Maybe ur right, but after months of this bs, it sure FEELS intentional 😤

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone who can help. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials through the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a real agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit or some kind of scam?

Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical too but I was desperate. It really did work for me.

20 bucks tho? That's steep when ur already struggling with unemployment 😬

I get it, but for me it was worth it to finally get some answers. Beats wasting hours on hold imo

Pro tip: try calling right when they open in the morning. I got through after only a 20 minute wait last week!

This is ridiculous. We pay taxes for this service and they can't even hire enough people to answer the phones properly? I've been trying to get an update on my claim for THREE MONTHS. Anyone know who we can complain to about this?

You could try contacting your local representative. Sometimes they can help push things along.

Good idea, I'll give that a shot. Thanks!

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for way too long: 1. Be persistent. Call every day if you have to. 2. Keep a log of every call - date, time, who you spoke to (if anyone). 3. Have all your info ready - claim number, dates, etc. 4. Ask for a supervisor if the first person can't help. 5. Consider using one of those paid services to get through if you're really stuck. 6. Check your online account regularly for updates. 7. If all else fails, contact your local representative or the ombudsman. It's a pain, but hang in there. Eventually, you'll get through to someone who can actually help.

This is super helpful, thank you! I'll definitely start keeping better records of my calls.

Great advice! I'd add: be nice to the person on the phone. It's not their fault the system sucks, and they're more likely to go the extra mile if you're polite.

I feel your pain, OP. I've been in the same boat for weeks. It's like playing the lottery every time I call - will I get a helpful person or just another dead end? 🎰🤡

Unpopular opinion: maybe we should just be grateful we have unemployment benefits at all? Some countries don't even have this safety net.

Bruh, just because others have it worse doesn't mean we can't expect better. We pay into this system!

👆 This. We shouldn't settle for a broken system just because it exists.

Plot twist: what if all the 'real' agents quit and now it's just an army of clueless call center workers? 🤔😂
