Weeks of calling for status update, can't get through. Any tips?

I've been trying to get a status update for weeks now and I can't get through to anyone. The wait times are insane. Has anyone else been dealing with this? It's so frustrating to be left in the dark about my case.

Same here! I've been calling every day for the past two weeks and can't even get put on hold. It's like they've completely shut down the phone lines or something.

I heard they're understaffed due to budget cuts. Doesn't excuse the lack of communication tho šŸ™„

Budget cuts? More like they don't give a damn about us. We're just numbers to them 😤

Yeah, it's ridiculous. You'd think they'd at least have an automated system to give basic updates.

I finally found a way to get through! There's this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that calls for you, waits on hold, and then connects you when a real person picks up. It costs $20 but it actually works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

20 bucks? Thats kinda steep for something that should be free...

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. After weeks of trying, I got through in one day. Worth every penny imo.

Just used it yesterday and can confirm it works! Saved me hours of frustration.

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I got through after only a 30 minute wait last week.

This is getting ridiculous. We need to start contacting our representatives about this. It's not okay to leave people hanging for weeks without any information.

100% agree. I've already sent emails to my local rep. The more of us that speak up, the better chance we have of seeing change.

Good idea! Does anyone have a template we could use for emails/calls to reps?

Have you tried checking your online account? Sometimes they update the status there without actually contacting you.

Yeah, I check it obsessively lol. No updates there either 😩

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been dealing with this for MONTHS. Here's what I've learned: • Best times to call are Tuesday-Thursday, avoid Mondays and Fridays • Use the online portal to submit questions when possible • If you do get through, ask for a direct callback number or extension • Keep detailed records of all your calls and attempts • Consider reaching out to your local legal aid office for help It's a broken system, but hang in there. Eventually, you'll get through!

This is super helpful, thanks for sharing your experience!

Great advice. I'd add: don't be afraid to escalate to a supervisor if you're not getting anywhere with the first person you talk to.

Anyone else feel like were living in a kafka novel? 🤔 Spend hours trying to reach someone only to be told to call a different department, who then tells you to call the original number. Its a never-ending cycle of bureaucratic nonsense.

Lmao too real šŸ˜‚ Sometimes I wonder if there's actually anyone on the other end of the line or if it's just a recording designed to drive us insane

I've given up on calling. Sent a certified letter instead. At least this way I have proof that I've been trying to contact them.

Has anyone tried going to the office in person? I'm considering it at this point, even if I have to wait in line all day.

I tried last month. They turned me away and told me to use the phone or online system. Complete waste of time.

Some offices are open for in-person now, but you need an appointment. Check their website for info.
