Stuck on hold for 30+ mins checking claim eligibility - any tips to actually reach someone?
I've been trying to check the eligibility of my claim for hours now. Called the number and was on hold for over 30 minutes, but no one ever picked up. This is so frustrating! Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips on how to actually get through to a real person?

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been dealing with this nonsense for weeks now. It's like they don't want us to get our benefits or something. š

ā¢Weeks? Try months! I swear, it's like they're purposely making it difficult. š¤

ā¢I feel ya. It's like trying to catch a unicorn or something. Keep at it tho, you'll get through eventually!

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I managed to get through after only 15 minutes on hold that way. Good luck!

I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

ā¢Sounds too good to be true. Has anyone else tried this?

ā¢20 bucks? That's kinda steep just to talk to someone...

ā¢I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it worked for me. Saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

Have you tried checking your eligibility online? Sometimes thats faster than calling

ā¢Yeah, I tried that first. The website kept giving me an error message. That's why I resorted to calling. š©

Ugh, I feel your pain. The whole system is a joke. I've been trying to get my claim sorted for months now. It's like they're playing games with our lives.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with this for way too long: ⢠Call early in the morning, like right when they open ⢠If you get a busy signal, hang up and immediately redial ⢠Use multiple phones if you can to increase your chances ⢠Be prepared with all your info before you call ⢠If you get through, be super nice to the rep (even if you're frustrated) ⢠Consider using one of those paid services if you're really desperate Hope this helps someone. We're all in this together, folks!

ā¢Great advice! I'd add: keep a log of all your calls and who you spoke to. It helps if you need to escalate later.

I've heard rumors they're updating their phone systems soon. Maybe that'll help? š¤

Just went through this nightmare myself last week! What finally worked for me was calling the disability line (1-800-480-3287) at exactly 8:00 AM when they open. I literally had my phone ready and hit redial the second it turned 8:00. Got through after about 20 minutes. Also, when you get to the automated menu, press 1-2-1 to get to the disability claims department faster. Don't give up - persistence is key! šŖ

ā¢Thanks for the tip about the 1-2-1 menu shortcut! I had no idea about that. Definitely going to try the 8 AM strategy tomorrow. Did you have to wait long once you actually got connected to a person?

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Been trying to get through for days and it's incredibly frustrating. Thanks to everyone sharing their tips here - I'm definitely going to try calling right at 8 AM tomorrow and use that 1-2-1 menu shortcut. It's crazy that we have to jump through so many hoops just to check on our own claims. Hopefully the persistence pays off! š¤

ā¢Welcome to the struggle! š I'm new here but dealing with the same nightmare. Been lurking and reading everyone's tips - definitely going to try that early morning strategy too. It's wild that we all have to become experts at gaming the phone system just to access our own benefits. Good luck tomorrow, hope we both get through! š

Just wanted to jump in as someone who's been lurking here for a while - the persistence really does pay off! I finally got through last month after weeks of trying. The 8 AM strategy that @Javier Garcia mentioned is solid gold. Also, if you're getting the runaround from one rep, don't be afraid to politely end the call and try again with someone else. Sometimes you just get a better agent who actually knows what they're doing. Hang in there @Diego Mendoza - I know it's beyond frustrating but you'll get through eventually! šŖ

ā¢Thanks for the encouragement @Sean Matthews! I'm definitely feeling the solidarity here - it's crazy how we all have to become phone system ninjas just to access basic services. Really appreciate everyone sharing their hard-won wisdom. Going to set my alarm for 7:55 AM tomorrow and give it another shot with all these tips. It's ridiculous that it takes a whole community effort to figure out how to reach our own government services, but at least we're all helping each other out! š¤
