Stuck on EDD hold for hours - any tips to actually reach a human?
Has anyone else been stuck on hold with EDD for hours? I finally got a callback after waiting forever, but now I've been listening to hold music for 15 minutes. This is so frustrating! I just need to talk to someone about my claim. Any tips on how to actually get through to a real person?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I was on hold for TWO HOURS last week. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to reach anyone. 🤬

•Two hours? You got lucky! I've been trying for days and can't even get put on hold. This system is a joke.

•Same here! I swear they have like 2 people working the phones for the entire state. 🤡

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•I get the skepticism, but it's legit. They basically have a system that calls EDD repeatedly until they get through, then they connect you. Saved me hours of frustration.

Pro tip: try calling right when they open. I got through after only 20 minutes on hold that way.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Be persistent. Keep calling, even if you get disconnected. 2. Have all your info ready before you call. They'll ask for your SSN, claim ID, etc. 3. Be polite to the rep when you finally get one. They're probably overwhelmed too. 4. If one rep can't help, politely ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist. 5. Keep a log of who you talked to and what they said. 6. If all else fails, contact your state representative's office. They can sometimes intervene. Hope this helps someone! We're all in the same sinking boat here. 🚢

•Contacting my rep actually worked for me! Took about a week, but they got EDD to call me back.

Anyone else think its ridiculous that we have to jump through all these hoops just to get our benefits? The system is broken af

•Preach! 🙌 It's like they're trying to discourage us from claiming what we're entitled to.

Has anyone tried using the online portal instead of calling? I heard they improved it recently.
