EDD agent went silent mid-call - How to actually reach a human?

I was on the phone with EDD about my payment issue and the agent suddenly went silent. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm so frustrated because I've been waiting for hours to talk to someone and now I have to start all over again. Any advice on how to get through to a real person without wasting an entire day?

Ugh, that's the worst! I've had that happen to me too. It's like they just disappear into thin air. I swear the EDD phone system is designed to make us give up 🤬

For real tho! I think they have a big red button labeled 'frustrate caller' that they smash whenever they feel like it 😂

Maybe they're playing hide and seek with our sanity 🙃

I found a way to get someone on the phone without the endless waiting. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

It's legit! You just enter your phone # on their site, pay the fee, and they call you when they get an agent. Saved me hours of frustration.

idk man, paying to talk to edd? seems sketchy af

I get the skepticism, but when you've been trying to reach EDD for weeks, $20 feels worth it. It's not like they're asking for personal info or anything.

Here's what I've learned after dealing with EDD for months: 1. Call right when they open. Like, set an alarm and be ready to dial. 2. If you get disconnected, call back immediately. Sometimes you can get back in the queue. 3. Have all your info ready - claim number, last payment date, etc. 4. Be super nice to the rep, even if you're frustrated. They're more likely to go the extra mile. 5. If one rep can't help, politely ask to speak to a tier 2 specialist. 6. Keep a log of every call - date, time, rep name, what was discussed. 7. If all else fails, contact your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite things. Hope this helps someone! We're all in this sinking ship together 🚢

This is gold! 💯 Saving this for future reference. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!

The assembly member tip is clutch. They helped me resolve an issue that had been dragging on for months.

Preach! 🙌 It's like they're guarding Fort Knox instead of helping people who are struggling

Fr fr. feels like we're begging for scraps when we've paid into this system our whole working lives

Has anyone tried reaching out to EDD on social media? I've seen some people get responses on Twitter.

Pro tip: if you're calling from a cell phone, try using a landline instead. For some reason, I've had better luck getting through that way.

Wait, people still have landlines? 😂

Lol I know right? I used my grandma's. Desperate times call for desperate measures 🤷‍♂️

I've been dealing with payment issues for 3 months now. Called over 100 times. Finally got through last week and they said they'd escalate my case. Still waiting. This is beyond frustrating.

Hang in there! I know it feels hopeless, but keep pushing. Sending good vibes your way ❤️

Anyone else notice that the hold music is like psychological warfare? I swear I hear it in my nightmares now 🎵😱

omg yes! I could probably play it on piano by now 🎹

Plot twist: its actually a subliminal message telling us to give up and go away 👽
