EDD phone nightmare: How to actually reach a human?
I'm so frustrated with the EDD right now. I've been trying to get through to them for weeks and it's like talking to a brick wall. Every time I call, I either get a busy signal or I'm on hold for hours only to be disconnected. Does anyone else feel like they're dealing with complete idiots? I'm at my wit's end here and could really use some advice on how to actually get someone competent on the phone.

Ugh, I feel your pain. The EDD is a total nightmare to deal with. I've been in the same boat for months now. It's like they're purposely making it impossible to get help. Have you tried calling right when they open? That's worked for me a couple times.

β’Calling when they open is hit or miss for me. Sometimes I get through, other times it's just busy signals all morning. π€

β’I've had better luck calling later in the day, like an hour before they close. Seems like less people try then.

β’Thanks for the tips! I'll give both a shot and see if I have any luck. At this point, I'm willing to try anything.

Listen up, I've been dealing with EDD for years and I've learned all the tricks. Here's what you need to do: β’ Call exactly at 8:01 AM. Not 8:00, not 8:02. 8:01. β’ Use the 2511 number, not the main one. β’ When you hear the recording, immediately press 1, then 2, then 4. β’ If you get a busy signal, hang up and redial. Do this for at least an hour. β’ Be persistent. It might take 50+ calls, but you'll get through eventually. β’ Once you're on hold, DO NOT HANG UP. Put it on speaker and wait it out. β’ Have all your info ready when you finally talk to someone. It's a pain, but this method has worked for me multiple times. Good luck!

β’Trust me, it's worth it when you finally get through. Unless you wanna wait months for your claim to be processed...

Yo, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone without all the hassle. I used this site called claimyr.com. It's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then sends the call to your phone when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it totally works. Check out this video: https://youtu.be/Ize0EkN4HDI

β’Sounds too good to be true. How does it actually work?

β’It's legit! You just enter your phone number on their site, pay the fee, and they do all the waiting for you. When an agent picks up, they connect the call to your phone. Saved me hours of frustration.

β’I get the skepticism, but think about how much your time is worth. I'd rather pay $20 than waste an entire day on hold.

Have you tried reaching out to your local assembly member's office? They can sometimes help expedite EDD issues. It's worth a shot if you're really stuck.

Has anyone else noticed that the EDD website is always "undergoing maintenance" whenever you actually need to use it? It's like they're allergic to being helpful.

β’Omg yes! And it's always at the most inconvenient times too. Like, do they not want us to file our claims or what?

β’Plot twist: the website is never actually under maintenance. They just put that up when too many people are trying to use it at once π

I've been dealing with these clowns for 6 months now. Still haven't seen a dime of my benefits. At this point, I'm convinced they're just hoping we'll all give up and go away.

β’6 months?! That's insane. Have you tried contacting your state representative? Sometimes they can light a fire under EDD's ass.

β’Yeah, I've tried everything. State rep, senator, even wrote to the governor. Nothing seems to work. It's like screaming into the void.

Pro tip: if you're gonna call EDD, make sure you have snacks, water, and a fully charged phone. You're in for a long haul, my friend. ππΏπ

I've been fighting with EDD for 3 months now and I'm about ready to lose my mind. The worst part is when you finally get through after hours of calling, they tell you they need to "escalate" your case and then you never hear back. It's like they're running some kind of cruel social experiment to see how much we can take before we break. Has anyone had success with filing complaints with the state ombudsman? I'm running out of options here and honestly considering just moving to a different state at this point. π

β’Oof, 3 months is rough! I haven't tried the state ombudsman route yet but that actually sounds like a solid idea. At least it's another avenue to explore when you're hitting walls everywhere else. Don't give up though - I've heard some people finally break through after months of persistence. Maybe we should all start documenting our experiences and timelines? Could be helpful for others going through this nightmare too.
