EDD Leave Pay: No response after 3 weeks, how to check status & calculate benefits?
Hey everyone, I'm dealing with some EDD leave pay issues and could use some advice. I submitted my medical documents about 3 weeks ago for my claim, but I haven't heard anything back. No confirmation, no updates, nothing. I'm getting worried and don't know what to do next. Has anyone else experienced this? What should my next steps be? Also, I'm trying to figure out how much I might get. My weekly earnings before leave were about $2,500 gross. Any idea what I could expect for benefits? Thanks in advance for any help!

Ugh, the EDD is such a nightmare to deal with! I've been there, buddy. Here's what I'd suggest: 1. Keep calling them. Like, every day. It's annoying, but persistence pays off. 2. Send a follow-up email or fax (yeah, they still use fax 🙄) referencing your original submission date. 3. Check your online account if you have one. Sometimes updates appear there before they contact you. 4. Consider reaching out to your local state representative's office. They can sometimes help push things along. As for the benefit amount, with $2,500 gross weekly, you're probably looking at around $1,300 per week in benefits. That's usually the max they give out. Hang in there! The system is frustrating, but you'll get through it.

•This is solid advice 💯 Especially the part about contacting your state rep. They helped me big time when I was stuck in EDD limbo for months!

•Thanks so much for the detailed response! I'll definitely try all of these. Quick question - how do I find my local state rep's contact info?

•No prob! Just google '[Your State] Find My Representative' and there should be a website where you can enter your address to get their info. Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

•I know it sounds weird, but I swear it's legit. Used it twice now. Beats spending hours on hold or getting hung up on constantly.

•How long did you have to wait after using the service?

•It took about 2 hours the first time, but only 45 minutes the second. Way better than my previous attempts!

Have you tried checking your spam folder? Sometimes EDD emails end up there. Also, make sure you're logging into your UI Online account regularly. They don't always send emails for updates.

•Good call! Just checked and nothing in spam, but I'll keep an eye on it. And yeah, I've been checking UI Online daily. Still nothing new there either 😕

Ive been waiting 2 months for my claim to be processed. This whole system is a joke. We need to organize and demand better service from EDD!

Quick tip: if you can't get through on the main line, try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes you have better luck then.

Hey OP, just a heads up - make sure you're certifying for benefits every two weeks even if your claim is still pending. You don't wanna miss out on back pay if it gets approved!

•Oh wow, I didn't know that! Thanks for the tip, definitely gonna start doing that asap

Anyone else notice that EDD seems to work faster if you bug them on social media? Try tweeting at them or messaging on FB. Worked for me! 🤷♂️

Pro tip: Document EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every email. You never know when you might need to prove you've been trying to resolve issues.
