EDD E318 error preventing login, disability check 6 weeks late. Help!

I've been waiting for my disability check for 6 weeks now and I'm getting really frustrated. Every time I try to log into the EDD website to check my claim status, I get this E318 error. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get through to a real person or fix this error?

I found a way to solve EDD E318 login error issues, watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lh7s7U3Qx5g

Ugh, I feel your pain. I had the same issue last month. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? Sometimes that helps with weird website errors.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a try and see if it helps!

clearing cache didnt work for me. ended up having to use my neighbors computer to log in 🙄

The E318 error is usually related to account verification issues. Have you tried resetting your password? If that doesn't work, you might need to call EDD directly to verify your identity.

I reset my password twice already, no luck. Calling them is a nightmare, I've been on hold for hours before giving up.

Pro tip: call right when they open in the morning. You'll still wait, but not as long.

6 weeks?! That's ridiculous. I'm in the same boat, waiting on my check for over a month now. The system is so broken, it's infuriating. 😡

Hey, I found a method to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of frustration. Worth every penny imo.

$20 to talk to someone at EDD? That's highway robbery! 🤬

I get it, but think about how much time you waste on hold. For me, time is money, and this saved me a ton of time.

Here's what you need to do to resolve this issue: 1. Document everything: Keep a log of all your attempts to log in, including dates and exact error messages. 2. Try different browsers: Sometimes the EDD site works better on certain browsers. 3. Check your internet connection: A unstable connection can cause login issues. 4. Contact EDD directly: Call their technical support line (not the general line) and explain the E318 error. 5. Reach out to your local assembly member's office: They often have direct lines to EDD and can help push your case. 6. File a formal complaint: If all else fails, file a complaint with the state ombudsman. Remember, persistence is key. Don't give up!

I'm an IT professional, and I've seen this error before. It's often caused by server-side issues at EDD. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do on your end except keep trying and report the issue to them.

Finally, someone who knows what theyre talking about! Any idea how often EDD updates their systems?

From what I've heard, they do major updates quarterly, but minor fixes can happen anytime. It's a bit of a black box, tbh.

This happened to me last year. Turns out my account was flagged for potential fraud (it wasn't). Had to go through this whole identity verification process. It sucked, but eventually got resolved. Might be worth asking if that's whats going on with your account.

guys. we need to organize and demand better from our government. this is unacceptable. who's with me? 👊

Count me in! We should start a petition or something.

Lol good luck with that. Government doesn't care about us little people 🤡

I'm dealing with the exact same E318 error! Been locked out for 3 weeks now. One thing that helped me get a bit further was using an incognito/private browsing window - it doesn't solve the error completely but sometimes gets me past the initial login screen. Also, I noticed the error happens less frequently if I try logging in really early in the morning (like 6-7 AM) when their servers aren't as busy. Still haven't gotten my check though 😤 This whole system is a mess.

Thanks for the tip about using incognito mode! I'm definitely going to try logging in early morning too - makes sense that the servers would be less overloaded then. It's crazy that we have to resort to these workarounds just to access our own benefits. Hope you get your check soon! 🤞

I've been dealing with E318 errors for weeks too! What finally worked for me was a combination of things: First, I completely cleared ALL my browser data (not just cache and cookies, but everything including saved passwords and autofill data). Then I used a different device entirely - borrowed my friend's laptop. I also made sure to disable any ad blockers or browser extensions before trying to log in. The key was being super patient and trying at off-peak hours like others mentioned. It took about 5 attempts over 2 days, but I finally got through. The E318 error seems to be tied to some kind of browser fingerprinting issue on EDD's end. Also, once you do get in, don't refresh the page or open multiple tabs - that seems to trigger the error again. Hope this helps someone! 🙏

This is incredibly helpful! I never thought about browser fingerprinting being the issue. I've been trying the same browser over and over like a broken record 🤦‍♀️ Going to try your method with a completely clean browser setup and different device. The tip about not refreshing or opening multiple tabs is gold too - I definitely made that mistake before. Thanks so much for sharing what worked for you!
