EDD Claim Submitted 3/14 - How Long Until Processed? Anyone Know Current Wait Times?

Hey everyone, I submitted my claim on March 14th and I'm still waiting to hear back. Does anyone know how long it typically takes for EDD to process claims these days? I'm getting a bit anxious and could really use some insight on what to expect. Thanks in advance for any help!

Ugh, I feel your pain! I submitted mine back in February and I'm STILL waiting. It's like they're moving at a snail's pace or something. 🐌 Have you tried calling them? That might be your best bet to get some answers.

Thanks for the reply! I've been trying to call but no luck getting through. It's so frustrating. How long have you been waiting exactly?

I've been waiting for about 6 weeks now. It's ridiculous! I've heard some people say it can take up to 8 weeks, but idk if that's true or just a rumor. 🤷‍♂️

8 weeks?! That's insane. How are we supposed to survive that long without income? The system is broken af 😤

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but EDD is seriously backed up right now. I've been waiting for over 2 months on my claim. It's a total mess. My advice? Keep calling and don't give up. Sometimes you get lucky and find a helpful agent who can push things along.

Hey there! I actually found a way to get through to someone on the phone. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

Sounds too good to be true. Is this legit? Has anyone else tried it?

I know it sounds sketchy, but I swear it's legit. I was desperate and decided to give it a shot. Saved me hours of frustration!

I've used it too! Totally worth the $20 imo. Got my issue resolved in one call after weeks of trying on my own.

Here's what I've learned from my experience and research: 1. Processing times vary wildly, from 2-8 weeks on average. 2. If there are any issues with your claim, it can take even longer. 3. Calling can help, but it's nearly impossible to get through. 4. Check your online account regularly for updates or requests for additional info. 5. If you're really struggling, contact your local state representative. They can sometimes expedite claims. Hang in there, OP. I know it's tough, but you're not alone in this boat. 💪

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed response! This is really helpful. I'll definitely try contacting my state rep if I don't hear anything soon.

Great advice! I'd add that joining Facebook groups for EDD claimants can be helpful too. Lots of people sharing tips and updates there.

lol welcome to EDD hell 🔥 where claims go to die and sanity comes to commit seppuku 💀

LMAO 🤣 this is too accurate. EDD should change their motto to 'Abandoning hope since 2020

Has anyone tried faxing their documents instead of mailing them? I heard it might be faster, but idk if that's just an urban legend at this point.

I tried faxing and it didn't make a difference. Still waiting... 😩

Wait, faxing? What year is it, 1995? 📠🕰️

Pro tip: if you call right when they open, you have a better chance of getting through. Set your alarm for 7:55 AM and start dialing at 8:00 AM sharp. It's not garuanteed, but it's worked for me a couple times.

Guys, I think I figured out why it's taking so long. EDD is actually run by sloths. It all makes sense now! 🦥💼

OMG 😂 I'm dead. This explains everything!

Nah, sloths would be an improvement. I'm pretty sure it's just a room full of potatoes with wires stuck in them. 🥔⚡
