EDD claim processed 2 weeks ago, still no payment after 3 months. What to ask when I call?
Hey everyone, I'm having some issues with my EDD claim. It's been processed according to my dashboard, but I still haven't received any money in my bank account. It's been over two weeks now! I filed my claim back in January, so we're talking about a 3-month wait at this point. Anyone else experiencing delays like this? I'm planning to call them and ask why it's taking so long to process the payment. Any advice on what specific questions I should ask when I get through?

Ugh, I feel your pain! I've been dealing with EDD for months now. Have you checked if there are any pending verifications or holds on your account? That could be why it's taking so long.

•Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't seen anything about pending verifications, but I'll double-check. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on 😤

•Yeah, definitely look into that. I had a similar issue and it turned out there was some random hold on my account that I had to call about. EDD's system is a mess 🙄

When you call, make sure to ask if there are any internal delays or issues on their end. Sometimes they have backlogs or system problems that they don't advertise. Also, ask if there's anything specific you need to do to move the process along. Good luck!

I found a way to actually get someone on the phone! I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•$20 just to talk to someone? The system is so broken 🤦♂️

•I know, it sucks that we have to pay, but for me it was worth it to finally get some answers.

Here's what I've learned from my EDD nightmare: 1. Document everything! Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and account updates. 2. Be persistent. Sometimes you have to call multiple times to get different answers. 3. Check your spam folder regularly. Important EDD emails sometimes end up there. 4. If possible, try to speak with a tier 2 representative. They often have more authority to resolve issues. 5. Consider reaching out to your local assembly member's office. They can sometimes expedite claims. 6. Join EDD-related Facebook groups. There's a lot of helpful info shared there. Hope this helps! Hang in there, OP. We're all in the same sinking boat 🚢💸

•Sure thing! Try searching for 'California EDD Help' or 'EDD Unemployment Support'. There are a few good ones with active admins who really know their stuff.

I'm in literally the exact same situation. Filed in January, claim says processed, but no money. It's like they're playing games with our lives. I'm about ready to go down to their office and camp out until someone helps me!

•Careful with that, security might not appreciate it 😅 But I feel you, the frustration is real!

Pro tip: call right when they open. I finally got through after trying this for a week straight. Also, be super nice to the person who answers - they deal with angry people all day and might be more willing to help if you're friendly.

•This! 💯 Kill 'em with kindness, as they say. Those poor call center folks are probably just as frustrated as we are.

Anyone else think its wild that we're all here trying to figure out how to get basic help from a government agency? Like, isn't this literally their job? 🤡 state

•ikr? it's like we're playing a game of 'how to outsmart the system that's supposed to help us' 🎮🤦♀️

Hey OP, when you do get through, ask them to explain EXACTLY why there's a delay. Don't let them give you vague answers. If they say 'processing time', ask what specific step it's stuck on. Sometimes they'll realize there's actually a fixable issue when you push for details.

I'm going through something similar - filed in February and still waiting! One thing that helped me was asking specifically about the "payment queue" when I called. Apparently there's a separate queue for issuing payments even after claims are processed. Also, double-check that your direct deposit info is correct in your profile - I've heard of people waiting months only to find out their bank info was wrong. Wishing you luck getting this sorted out! 🤞
