EDD claim delays: IT issues and excuses. Anyone else stuck in limbo?
I've been dealing with delays in my unemployment claim processing for over a month now. I filed my original claim back in November and then had to submit a new one in early December. Every time I manage to get through to EDD, they give me a different excuse for the hold-up. First it was the holidays, then some IT issue with calculating weekly benefits. Anyone else experiencing these constant delays? It's getting really frustrating and I'm not sure what to do next.

Ugh, I feel your pain. I've been stuck in EDD limbo for weeks too. It's like they're playing excuse bingo or something. 🙄 Have you tried reaching out to your local representative? I've heard that can sometimes help speed things up.

•Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't tried contacting my rep yet. Do you know how I'd go about doing that?

•Just google your area + state representative. Most have a form on their website where you can request help with state agencies. Worth a shot!

The EDD system is a complete joke. I've been waiting since October for my claim to be processed. Every time I call, it's a different story. One rep even told me to just be patient. Like, hello? Bills don't wait patiently! 🤬

Hey everyone, I actually found a way to get through to someone on the phone. I used this site called claimyr.com - it's a calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, and then connects you when a live agent picks up. It costs $20, but it worked for me. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/DOLxZQb92wM

•Sounds too good to be true. Are you sure it's legit?

•I was skeptical at first too, but I can confirm it's real. Saved me hours of frustration.

•How long did it take for them to get someone on the line?

•For me, it took about 2 hours. But I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music the whole time, which was nice.

Here's what I've learned from dealing with EDD for the past few months: 1. Document everything. Keep a log of every call, who you spoke to, and what they said. 2. Be persistent. Sometimes you'll get different answers from different reps. 3. Check your online account regularly. Sometimes they update info there without notifying you. 4. If you're told there's an IT issue, ask for specifics. What exactly is the problem? When do they expect it to be resolved? 5. Consider filing a complaint with the state labor board if delays are excessive. 6. As someone mentioned, reaching out to your local rep can help. 7. If all else fails, look into legal aid services. Some offer free consultations for unemployment issues. Hope this helps someone. We're all in this frustrating boat together. 💪

•Great advice! I'd add: don't be afraid to ask for a supervisor if you're not getting anywhere with the first rep you talk to.

has anyone else noticed that the edd website is always "undergoing maintenance" when you actually need to use it? its like they're trolling us at this point 🤡

I'm starting to think the "IT issues" are just their go-to excuse when they don't know what's going on. Like, how long does it take to fix a computer problem? 🤔

•For real tho. My cousin works in IT and says most issues can be fixed pretty quick. EDD's just using it as a scapegoat imo

•Maybe we should offer to fix it for them lol. Couldn't do any worse than they're doing now 😂
