Missing Sunday alert to file weekly ESD claim - anyone else?
I'm a bit worried because I always get an alert on Sunday to file my weekly unemployment claim, but yesterday nothing showed up. I've been receiving benefits for about 2 months and every Sunday like clockwork I get the notification in my eServices account to file. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this some kind of system glitch? I logged in directly and checked but didn't see the usual alert or link. I'm concerned because I don't want to miss filing and have my benefits interrupted. Should I just go ahead and file anyway through the weekly claim section?

•Thanks for the quick response! Did everything work normally once you went through the weekly claim menu? I'm paranoid about doing something wrong and having my benefits delayed.

This happens occasionally when ESD does system maintenance. The alert system is separate from the actual claim filing system. You should always file your weekly claim on your regular day regardless of whether you receive a notification or not. Just log in to your eServices account, click on 'Weekly Claim' in the left navigation menu, and proceed as normal. The system will allow you to file if it's your filing day. Remember, it's your responsibility to file on time - the alerts are just a courtesy, not a requirement for the system to work.

•Oh I didn't realize the alerts were just a courtesy! Thank you for explaining this. I'll go file right now. Would hate to mess up my benefits over something so simple.

LOL welcome to the wonderful world of ESD technology! 😂 Sometimes the alerts work, sometimes they don't. I stopped relying on them months ago. Just set a reminder on your phone for your filing day and always file whether you get an alert or not.

•THIS! I've been on UI three separate times over the years and their system has ALWAYS been glitchy. I use calendar reminders now because those alerts are about as reliable as a chocolate teapot. Best advice is to just manually check every Sunday regardless of alerts.

The alerts issue is actually a known problem right now. I contacted ESD last week about another issue and they mentioned they're having intermittent problems with the alert notification system. They confirmed it doesn't affect your ability to file claims, just the reminder system. Always file your weekly claim during your assigned filing window regardless of whether you receive an alert or not. Your filing day is based on the last digit of your SSN, but Sunday is open to everyone. The most important thing is filing within your proper week, not whether you received a notification.

•That's really helpful information, thank you! I did manage to file my claim after all. Just went through the weekly claim section like normal and everything worked fine. Glad to know it was a system issue and not something wrong with my account specifically.

My sister had her claim completely messed up because she missed one week of filing when she didn't get an alert. ESD is so frustrating to deal with! She had to call like 50 times to get through to someone to fix it.

•If anyone needs to reach ESD by phone, I'd recommend trying Claimyr. I was in the same boat last month - needed to talk to someone at ESD but couldn't get through. Claimyr got me connected to an ESD agent in about 25 minutes when I'd been trying for days on my own. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Their website is claimyr.com. Totally worth it when you're dealing with time-sensitive claim issues.

UPDATE: I was able to file my claim without any problems! I just went to the weekly claim section directly instead of waiting for the alert. Everything processed normally and I got my confirmation number. Seems like it's just an issue with the alert system, not the actual filing process. Thanks everyone for your quick responses and help!
