ESD claim shows 'paid' but no deposit in bank account after waiting week - holiday delay?
So I'm super confused and getting worried. My ESD claim finally shows 'paid' status for this week (after my waiting week just ended), but there's absolutely nothing showing up in my bank account! I have direct deposit set up correctly - double checked all my info and it's right. I know it's Presidents' Day week, so maybe that's causing a delay? But shouldn't there at least be a pending deposit showing up somewhere? Has anyone else dealt with this? How long should I expect to wait before I start panicking about the money not showing up? Really need this payment to cover rent next week!

•Thank you!! That's a relief to hear. I thought I was going crazy because the website shows it's been processed but nothing in my account yet. Guess I just need to be patient a few more days.

The Presidents' Day holiday is definitely causing delays with direct deposits this week. ESD usually processes payments within 48 hours after a claim shows 'paid' status, but banking holidays add 1-2 business days to processing times. When a federal holiday falls on Monday like Presidents' Day, Tuesday becomes the first business day, so many payments won't hit accounts until Thursday or Friday. Also, some banks don't show pending deposits until they're fully processed. If your payment doesn't arrive by Friday, then you might want to check if there are any issues.

•Thanks for the detailed explanation! I'll wait until Friday before I worry too much. Just wasn't sure if the 'paid' status meant it should already be showing up. This is my first time getting benefits so everything is new to me.

This EXACT thing happened to me in January!! My claim said PAID for three days straight but nothing in my bank account!! I called ESD like 50 times and couldn't get through to anyone. Finally got through on the fourth day and they said everything was fine, just a processing delay. Then the money showed up that afternoon. The ESD system is SO frustrating sometimes!!

•I had the same experience trying to reach ESD last month. Spent hours on hold only to get disconnected. Finally used a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that got me through to an agent in about 20 minutes. They have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3. Totally worth it for the peace of mind of talking to an actual person about my payment issues instead of stressing for days.

•That sounds really stressful! I'm hoping mine comes through automatically but good to know there are options to reach someone if I need to. I get so anxious when it comes to money stuff.

It typically takes 2-3 business days after the 'paid' status appears for the funds to hit your account. With the holiday, you need to add an extra day. ESD processes payments in batches, but the banking system is what creates most delays. Some important details to know: 1. If this is your first payment after waiting week, it often takes slightly longer 2. The 'paid' status just means ESD has authorized the payment, not that the money has been sent 3. Your bank may hold funds for 24 hours even after receiving them 4. Holiday weekends always add delays I wouldn't worry unless it's still not there by Friday afternoon. Then you might need to contact ESD to check if there's an issue with your direct deposit information.

•You're right that individual experiences vary based on banking institutions and how long you've been receiving benefits. I was speaking about the general timeline for new claimants, which tends to be longer for the first few payments. Established claims with the same bank often process faster once the system recognizes the recurring payment pattern.

•This is super helpful info. I didn't realize there were so many steps even after it says 'paid' on the website. I'll definitely wait until Friday before I start making calls.

my friend had this happen and it turned out his direct deposit info was wrong even tho he thought he entered it right. double check all your bank info in your esd account. also some banks take foreeeever to process esd payments for some reason

•I just triple-checked and my banking info is definitely correct in the system. Routing and account numbers match my bank statements. Hopefully it's just the holiday delay like others are saying. If nothing by Friday I'll have to try calling them.

Quick update question - has your payment arrived yet? Most holiday-delayed direct deposits should have processed by now. If you're still waiting, it might be worth contacting ESD before the weekend.

•Thanks for checking back! The money actually showed up this morning! Looks like it was just the holiday delay after all. Such a relief!
